I had a horrible experience with chicken of the woods once, and the problem was the type of host tree the mushrooms were growing on. they absorb some of the biomolecules from the host trees, including toxins from the host‘s chemical defense system. apparently conifer hosts are more risky this way.

as this goes on while i grow older, i am very much feeling like a creature of another time. obviously things have always been more or less this way my entire life but as the last vestiges of truth, shared obligations, a loose moral framework get sheared away, i feel increasingly out of place
the humane order of enduring and generational webs of relationships, families, neighbors, neighborhoods…

we must find ways to rebuild what they have taken from us, and we must respect the places that still have *society* and pay homage to that by doing our best to learn from it and apply lessons.
no, it is worse. but we must also remember that our experience of this in the US is not universal. in countries where *society* wasn’t intentionally and systematically dismantled for domestic counterinsurgency (and profit), there is still, well, society…

I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.

Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?

But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

The reason Zionists want to end UNRWA is because it is a registry for Palestine refugees as well as their patrilineal descendants. It is the sole agency that officially considers someone like me Palestinian. This of course is a nightmare to an occupier who wants to pretend Palestinians don't exist
#BREAKING | An Israeli official told Kan public broadcaster that UNRWA “will not step foot in Gaza again,” despite a ruling from the International Court of Justice ordering Israel to cooperate with the UN agency.

Full self driving is such a bizarre name for assisted driving.

Like, for anything else it sounds insane.

“I present to you a full-self shower!”

Okay, so I just step in the shower and it cleans me?

“No, not at all, it dispenses soap.”

So, it’s a soap dispenser?

“? No, it’s a full self shower.”

"It's OK, they were 14" is getting really tired.

The updated statement came after KIVI-TV sent FBI photo reportedly showing 14-year-old U.S. citizen in zip ties.
