I think if you added rate limiting that would actually probably do it. If you simply couldn't use social media for more than 30 minutes a day I think our world would be much better off.

I think that's true for a lot of investors but some of these AI guys are also basically religious fanatics and have a religious belief that their AI is going to solve every problem any moment now.

If every was fascism then it's meaningless and offers no critique of the current situation. We can just say America committed genocide against native Americans. Calling it fascist if anything takes away from the culpability of Americans that voted for a government that did that.

Not who you responded to but the initial discussion was about it America was always fascist. It's becoming fascist but something can't "become" fascist if it was always fascist.

Well the US has been constrained by workers, not jobs. If other jobs pay better than you'll have a harder time paying for manufacturing workers, which means those jobs will also go up in wage. We should still work to raise wages but in a global economy I don't see American made being the norm.

Approval of immigration has shot up after Trump's win actually. There is a pretty significant public.opinion backlash against ICE and Trump. Whether or not that ultimately translate into change remains to be seen but the idea that there has been an intense shift away from immigration doesn't track.

The US also had tons of migration from Asia, Europe, and Africa, not just neighbors. Despite the best efforts of racist and nativists the US has managed to somehow attract vast numbers of immigrants from all over the world for its entire history. That's not everything but it's not nothing.

Again "immoral" and "fascist" are not synonyms. The Obama admin did immoral things but if you are claiming it was fascist then the word is utterly meaningless.

It's not fascism if you have legitimate and free elections. Democracies are very capable of doing horrendous things.
