Osh-Tisch was a Apsáalooke Badé, a role within the Crow Nation that defied traditional gender norms, embodying both masculine and feminine qualities. Before colonization, Badé were deeply respected for their unique spiritual gifts, artistry, and contributions to community life.

Well, in 4th grade, I took apart a mechanical pencil then jammed all the pieces together and my teacher looked me in the eye and said “I hope you don’t grow up to build things” so I accepted pretty early on not to try very hard at anything. That’s my reasoning anyway, I can’t speak for anyone else.
