This is top-tier bsky content and so I’m absolutely and unashamedly screenshotting and reposting it.

Now is the time of memesters?

And you were in the epicenter of one particular extreme vibe, haha. I remember we’d hear stories about y’all and be like, wtf and glad that wasn’t our context
posttim.bsky.social
This was the Denver scene. It is wild how much region impacted culture
posttim.bsky.social
Our scene was pretty adamant about pit etiquette in general and at least a faction of us in making sure pits and shows were safe for women

Krishnacore! And for a whole vibe, 108’s Killer of the Soul.

Good news: I’ve moved on. Now listening to A Dawn to Fear.

Taking another sick day. Still listening to this on repeat (almost done with 6th in a row). Got a few needed work things cleared out so I can rest. Still wanting on that doc prescription for a few weeks of fresh mountain air but I’ll take just some tea and extra napping for today.

Oh, as I am currently stuck on The Long Road North, you might really enjoy the middle run of songs, Beyond I through Full Moon (tracks 3 - 6).

Sometimes it helps to switch from asking “what do I want from life” to “what is life asking of me.” It invites a quieter listening and more direct engagement with what is actually going on.

Yes, being aware and exploring what kinds of pressure and why those pressures are there, and also, alertness to gifts, to openings and connections that feel like they appear.

Hmmmm. I bet AI can tell me how…
posttim.bsky.social
I know. I think it really would!
posttim.bsky.social
It’s so funny you say it’s all great and @neuronaraka.bsky.social says it’s all duhkha and it comes down to the same thing, haha.

And, I think the default tendency here is to feel that you need to “keep up” with new releases, and appreciate folks saying, hold on, think about why!
posttim.bsky.social
Why can’t I get a doctor to prescribe me a month’s rest in fresh mountain air?!?! Or two weeks?!?! I have somewhere to go even, just need that doctors note so I can use sick time and come back to a job.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending extra care to you and your family.

Been sick today. Took it off work and have slept for most of it. Only listened to The Long Road North all day. Done some energy / healing meditations. Really working on resetting my energy. Stuff is hard on so many fronts, and that takes it toll for sure.

Music is part of how I explore and engage my inner life, an aesthetic practice that blurs into spiritual. Listening to lots of new stuff has been and continues to be part of that. And sometimes I pull back. And learning that sensitivity—not just being on default mode—is key, and we need reminders.

I appreciate this post and the op, and others like it. I listen to lots of new stuff. It’s good to have people helping you ask yourself “why” and to think about other ways.

You can’t have every aesthetic experience. There is joy and community in connecting over new things. And, things you miss.

Y’all I am by no means saying you should stop discovering new music 😭 I’m simply suggesting being intentional about which albums you listen to. Don’t just let an algorithm make a playlist for you. Buy a damn cd/tape/vinyl. Listen so much that you want the t shirt
lusthag.bsky.social
I genuinely believe it is best to enjoy less music. Re-listening to one of my favorite albums will always take priority over discovering new music. Streaming has normalized the over-consumption of music to the point that most people listen to things once and never again.

My kids used to do “dark chicken” (bok-ing the imperial march) as part of the bedtime routine when they were younger, but I didn’t check to see if these boks scanned, lol
posttim.bsky.social
Yeah, and then I think it was Salvation for me as a whole album from there, and then, for whatever reason, all of it.

*to the tune of the imperial march*

Bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok, bok bok bok bok Bok - bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok - bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok bok's bok bok bok bok.

I couldn’t hang with them for a long time—just got bored. But I watched this live recording of them playing a song outside and it clicked and opened them up. Weirdest thing but I’ll take it.
posttim.bsky.social
Apparently this is a longer mood bc I’ve started the day here, too (The Long Road North).
posttim.bsky.social
I am listening to Cult of Luna. You should listen to Cult of Luna. It is always good to listen to Cult of Luna.

They are definitely moving up in my world. I have a top 3 (Shai Hulud, The Ocean, and Panopticon) so there’s room, but no rush, haha.
