How it started, how it’s going. 2 months later, the bay window that was a second-hand reclaimed addition in 1831 has been stripped back, restored, & today finally re-puttied. It looks a bit sharper, despite its 200+ age.

In breeding season male common newts are darker with spots & small crest on their tails; females may be darker than this one, but lack spots & crested tail. They also have a smooth cloaca while males have a more swollen cloaca. Out of breeding season the females are possibly paler. Cute aren’t they.
