Some more GVL Goodness...
Absolutely agree. The conversations should never end.
Play is essential. Our youngest development learning hub is called Foundations and Play, because we want play to be a very important part of the day.
No, but we like the story the qualitative data gives us. It informs the planning process for our guides. we see connections between different goals and create projects based on these interests.
We have been relatively hot for our Macedon Ranges area this week. yesterday and today we had the fire hose out at lunchtime. And the water bazookas. And the sprinklers. With buckloads of zooper doopers all around.
A fascinating area for a thesis. At GVL we are an independent school that has less constraints than many communities, so we feel we have so much opportunity for learning agency. I feel very grateful for this opportunity.

Heaps of cooking!
A great authentic project. I bet the engagement factor was off the scale.
They appreciate that a young person can move whenever they are showing evidence of growth and readiness. You’ll see that there’s a 1 year cross over in age groups. This allows everyone to feel they are in the right place at the right time.

For many public universities, let’s be honest, students are a commodity, are a data point.

Not at LCI Melbourne - it starts with belonging. Diversity is our inherent strength. And the exploration of self, place and the other central to transformation. #EduSkyAU

A4. Shaping belonging happens when students share their work in design labs. These collaborative spaces connect peers, mentors, and industry to celebrate progress, amplify advocacy, and foster a culture of creative stewardship. #EduSkyAU
I don't hashtag well..
That's a great step. Sure, it;s complicated, but it is worth is when young people are engaging in subjects that interest them.
thanks for having me. I;ll stay around and respond to posts for a while tonight and then one and off for a few days :)
Authentic solutions are key to engaging project-based learning, I have a mantra... If it can end up in a skip or on a USB, it's not an authentic project... It HAS to make a difference in the hub, learning community or larger community around the learner.
Here is the space they are now designing for. We have placed some temporary tables in the sapce the kitchen will go.
a check-in at every stage of the process can be handy. Peer-to-peer conversations, when scaffolded, can be a great way to work efficiently and effectively.
Today at GVL - This cherub discovered our veggie garden had corn growing in it over the break period. She rigged up a corn eating contraption, and lunch was sorted.... #thisislearning #blueskyau

Not a problem. Sharing is essential in a space like this.
Belonging is key... right @mattpitman.com.au ! In a tertiary setting, I believe this is even more complex that a place that has a metaphrocial fence around it like primary and secondary schools. amazing work!
Our families see their children in this 'warm' data. They know it has been captured from the conversation together, and they see it as a record of that young person's journey through learning.
