Finally!! Two hummingbirds have been coming around multiple times a day since the crocosmia is blooming. I noticed they have been checking out the lilies as well but they are a bit early. I have been trying to get video but they always dart off just as I get to the garden.

The catio is so great but it was totally cobbled together over the years and we just did major upgrades this year. 😀

If we didn't have the catio they would be indoor cats for sure. It is so much safer for everyone. There are two many animals and cars around these days.

No it is absolutely not. I am so glad that the cats have their catio. It is safer for them and we never have to worry that there is random bird killing going on. Only our oldest cat Leo was ever allowed out in the yard, the three youngest have only know the catio.

The brine consists of white vinegar, water, garlic, black peppercorns & pickling salt.

Well the El Jefe peppers are now all pickled!! 😀 It was an amazing growing season this year. Just started getting too cold over night.

First attempt at pickling peppers we usually just dry them and turn them into flakes. We will find out in exactly 7 days if this experiment has been successful. 🤞

El Jefe peppers. Red medium sized hot peppers. On the Scoville heat chart they are slighting under to slightly over jalapeños.

When my cats were allowed to roam in the yard I worked very hard on teaching them to be pacifist cats.

Bird killing was against the rules. And we did not have a bird fatality. 😀 Now they just get to watch them behind their screened in catio.
