These covers by the incredible @pillarshine.bsky.social represent two of the main Hunters of DISMALIA, partaking in events that correlate to their respective character arcs. The perilous predicaments of Bosco the Flayer of Fiends, Hanged Huntsman and the Indomitable Fool of a Knave, Deadhand Vrak.

The Abyssal Eye depicts the Flayer of Fiends in the Hanged Man pose, from the arcana major of the Tarot deck, in representation of his in depth personal journey in DISMALIA as the Hanged Huntsman, tragic figure in the process of transformation, within and outside, external and internal, as above so below. The Cyclopean Tyrant Bælrog, an alien Demon from the Nightmare Above, the Butcher's nemesis, remembers him well. This is the Demon that Bosco is hellbent on killing personally, but it is elusive and it eludes his current hunting skills.

Not for long, for he is following the trail of the eyeless Behemoths of its own legion it leaves behind during its mysterious search of something of great power in these dismal wastes, and he is going to behead this Behemoth before it achieves that goal. Such is why he is embroiled by the eldritch epidermal embracer, or "Meatsuit", "Flesh Suit", "Fleshy Armor" and other common nicknames given by others. For it was the embrace of the dead flesh of Demons which saved his own pale skin from being brutally devoured by the Behemoths, who drastically reduced the Rokyu's numbers by a tenfold, jumping over his party of freshly exiled Slayers, who were sent to the slaughter by Adrian Romero in a suicide Hunt, knowing fully well it was out of their league, but it was intentional, to purge the weak that overcrowded his precious lodge. Bosco, however, was the exception, surviving by the grace of his knowledge learned from his enigmatic father figure, who taught him the surgical secrets of Demonology applied to the craft of their flesh.

Since then, he has perfected the symbiotic relationship with the living armor, taming its parasitic properties in his favor to achieve perfect stealth, his human scent and living heat sealed beneath layers of demonic skin, which he patches up with that of stronger Demons the more he hunts. Soon, the skin of the Cyclopean Tyrant shall join his tapestry of terror, his skull fuse with his mortis monolith.

Prevailing and riding! The intrepid indomitable knave knows the difference between a fearless fool and a fearsome fool is that he, the fearsome, knows fear intimately but courageously cuts through the crippling dread by the domination of the demonic, in the form of his precious battle mount. The mysterious Hand Crawler, Knuckle-Dragger. Or Nük, for short.

The monstrous limb of a Tyrannical Regal Demon that Vrak personally hunted and harvested from the colossal noble, a Duke that rules over a mountain of skulls in a distant region beyond the whispering dunes. This is of course, a story only he can assure that happened, and no one in the city truly believes him, most thinking with certainty that he likely got the limb out of a Trollish Trickster in the Bloodroot Bog. Nothing as outlandishly majestic as he claims it to be, for no one has heard of such hellscape like a mountain of skull beyond the Dismal Frontier. To this day, he swears that this is the hand of a demonic principality, so his closest comrades humor him, specially Bosco and Dorris who performed the alchemical rituals necessary for the domination of the limb, transfusing his blood into the hand's veins, exorcizing the Demonic Will that controlled it, now blood-bound to Vrak's own.

Bosco promised to study the sanguine essence drained from the hand through necromantic alchemy, confirming once and for all if it truly belonged to a Regal Demon. In the meantime, Vrak makes great use of this mount when hunting Grotesques of the wastes, terrorizing the chimeras with reckless abandon. Only slowing his charge when his glaives and halberds are slowed by the burdensome weight of dead Demons.

I play slimefoot as a saproling aristorcrats deck, which means I usually just discreetly amass a board state and win by sacrificing the saprolings or as backup, finishing with craterhoof behemoth

It doesn't actually win that often lol, kind of slow an unimposing until it's too late for them
