Leftist on principle: socialist, BLM, defund the police etc. Not very tribal about it. Might even disagree with you about something once in a while. Unreconstructed Web 1.0 guy: still have a visitor count and a guest book on my home page

Funny how the FBI director never used to post supposed crime scene evidence on social media at all, let alone before the investigation could be said to have even properly begun

Wait until you see much they want for one that doesn't deliver an electric shock to your testicles at random intervals

Asked what he thinks of the constitutionality of any of this, House Speaker Mike Johnson says "I haven't heard about any of this"

No, wait, what am I thinking? He's called Qué-Nine, of course.

The last spoken sentence of every series should be a bombshell out of the blue, and the final shot a freezeframe openmouthed reaction shot.

Nine times out of ten you look at a racist, or learn something about them, and go "yeah, that fits. What else could they base any self-esteem on?"

Depends where they plan to settle. Further North it should be Cumbric

The BBC website from the early 2000s, when they were producing a broad range of content for its own sake, before complaints that it was "anti-competitive" forced them to abandon most of what wasn't specifically in support of their other media.

It's a bit like the way they say "multiple Grammy-winning band" about the State Fair touring version of a band whose principal members left or died decades ago.

"Not from a globally recognized newsroom with multiple Pulitzers to its name."

This is the problem with perpetuating a name but not the institution. The newsroom has multiple Pulitzers to its name, but but that name was inherited from effectively a different newsroom.

Just look at how cops acted during the last DSA-affiliated mayor: David Dinkins. He wasn’t anti-cop, he significantly expanded NYPD, increased their budget, all that, but because he pushed to hold bad cops accountable, they literally rioted.

Man that's a lot of B-roll they left on the edit room floor. Where did you find it, an estate sale?

Just incredible, isn't it. In no time at all it's turning our entire information space into a literal feedback loop.

Sentence: "Here's where you're wrong: ..."

If I say it: setting you straight.
If you say it: thought police.

For their followers it's basically another form of identity construction. Theirs is the "why can't everyone see things as clearly as I do?" form. One of its tics is to point out someone else's "fallacy" using a sentence that contains two or three of their own, all entirely invisible to them.
