hairdo goals: moon man edition.

This is allegedly an actual photo from 1895, a 'popular hairstyle' of the time. I smell shenanigans and will spend too much time thinking about the validity of the claim (and shape of the hair).
A black & white portrait of a man turned to the right, showing his grey hair off his forehead like a wave, and beard doing the same to create a crescent moon shape from the side.

don't call your music an infectious gumbo, compare it to a hiccuping ladder or self-lighting bong

How low should headphones go? I think somewhere around 30hz would be nice, but I don't think earbuds can represent this at all.

I think I need a big foamy hug around my ear to hear that, no?

Yes! this level of gullibility exactly. I worked for a producer that believed in a magic red pen, when you mark the right amount of the outer edge, 'reversed the jitter and allowed the resonance to transmit'. Couldn't shake him from that either, seemed just too fragile!

It would be really sweet if when someone said something so very much me, in a certain place, at a certain time, it would call my ghost or whatever to it. To scream into forever with a lure, an absolute talisman-enabled freaky thing. I need to make sure I live long enough to believe this is possible.

It used to be a regular feature in Sound on Sound, they'd put five ridiculous scam 'audiphiles only' woo magic scam products against a wire hanger for a blindfolded listening test - and the hanger would win as often as the $600usb cable hehe

Ikr? The fact that this exists is pretty good evidence that material wealth and common sense or knowledge or intelligence don't correlate necessarily lol

never been content for more than a minute, slip into the pit or the sky above like a magnet, maybe a qubit, always some spooky action at a distance

Please don't listen to my music with a $605.19 [per meter] usb audio cable.

Please spend that on getting me to play your jacuzzi party. I will walk one step per payment to your house (SE Michigan fans only).

The Ultra Silver USB boasts the silver family of sound quality and, as you would expect, is a step forward from the performance of the Black and Silver USB.

POOLS (#VR #Steam #PCVR) is the liminal space explorer my parents warned me about. Some of the audio drones that echo off of this very deliberately paced, very minimally decorated experience has me diving back in every time there's an update - i swear i haven't seen it all yet in 9 hours.
A scene that happened as I walked in virtual reality through this tiled space, regular white 4x4 tiles cover the floors and the top half of the walls and ceiling. Framed in the center, with a circular light shining down, is a torso also 'sculpted' from a white marble stone. It rests atop a rectangular pillar and has 4 plain plastic outdoor chairs (exactly as I had in my last house, and yard) facing it in a circle. The bottom half of the walls is a natural looking, unrepeating texture that is shades of grey. Striking when i'm in there inside this space. Another shot from the same VR game 'POOLS', this one frames a shiny red waterslide that comes from the ceiling, in the shape of an awkward "s" about 10m high. There are the same tiles as the other images all throughout, this room has green mosaic tiles atop the edges of the 'pool' below. The water is very lively and interactive. The sound, again, is a focus of the experience. The wall has a large pill-shaped light that shines into the space like sunlight. The water appears darker than it might be naturally... there's an odd presence in all of this game, and even some moments where i'm sure that some horror will destroy me. A very interesting effect! Finally, the last part of today's POOLS session brought me to this space where a shiny green waterslide curls around a staircase. This shot was taken between the white-tiled wall and the side of the slide, highlighting the reflection of a single light upon the ceiling on the side of it. This place is something, and I love it.

The terms "jigglebits," "fabtopulate," and "quarkism" are not standard or recognized units of measurement, functions, or concepts in computer science, physics, or engineering. They appear to be made-up terms.

They got me!!! That's the last time I let a hallucinating robot write my thesis!!1

The director of 'The Cell' hired the costume designer from Coppola's 1992 version of Dracula (my favorite).

Eiko Ishioka created brilliant surreal motifs, hair & makeup designs in both.

At the beginning of Dracula, Vlad is wearing red armor that looks like muscle fibers... also used here!

Thinking about J. Lo's brainmelter (some say say "style over substance", it is pulpy) 'The Cell' from 2000. Highly recommend it.

I don't watch many movies just for the visual design, but this one stuck in my brain for decades.

This passion turns my bonfire up to 11, simply hearing it disarms me, eyes get glassy, rapt in awe.

Let it loop until the divisions fade. My heart expands to hold the whole damn planet for a second.

I'm not crying, we are tears.

I've been sifting for better angles of this artifact from 2019 - it was done in Tilt Brush (#VR #sculpting app). It was uploaded to Google's 'Poly' site (RIP).

I remember seeing it got a handful of downloads.

If you somehow have the source file for this, lmk <3
a blue/purple ultraviolet light themed abstract art image created in a 3D sculpting app for virtual reality called 'Tilt Brush'. The app has a number of brushes that allow the user to paint in space. The picture here was a close-up of a 300+ hour project that is now presumed lost when Google decided to shut down 'Poly', a website that hosted tons of digital art from this app and others.

if you follow the logic of shareholder capitalism far enough, trying to cut costs to maximize profits, whittling down every corner to juice returns, eventually you end up in a situation where a company that once built houses ends up trying to sell toothpicks that cost a million dollars
