Remember how they lied about Brexit? Unsurprisingly, they're lying about ECHR too.
Don't give up your rights!! 👇
Should we follow Putin out of the ECHR?

Or is it just another Brexit where we give up our rights in the vain pursuit of making migrants disappear?
It has known fire safety issues, now there's combustibles in the foyet 🫣

Vote for hope.
Reject the politics of hate.

And let's make hope normal again.

With huge thanks to Benjamins wife, Qian, for permission to use the poem.
Reform, nailed down.
👏 "We've lived here all our lives. And I have never felt so unwelcome in my own hometown as I do since your party came into Caerphilly."

"With all the rhetoric that you bring in, I have to say to my sons, please don't go there. Please don't do this."

"I blame you for that."

Brilliant news! Larger cars are heavier, causing more road runoff + air pollution. Their high fronts increase risk of severe injury if they hit a pedestrian, + make it really difficult to see if small children have stepped in front of the vehicle. Strong move from @cardiffcouncil.bsky.social 💪

We're facing a crisis of inequality in this country, with our social housing in crucial need of long-term investment to secure warm, safe homes for those most in need.

A warm home is your right; a cold home is a political choice. The government must make different ones.
The majority of the UK’s richest are happy to live here & pay their taxes.
But what about the greedy few who use the UK to get rich, then bail when it's time to pay their dues?
The UK needs a settling-up tax, just like 🇺🇸 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇳🇱 🇨🇦 🇦🇺 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇳🇴 🇯🇵. #TaxWealthNotWork

The UK should join countries like the US,  France, Germany and Japan and introduce a settling up tax— sometimes known as an exit tax.

"non-employment rates for 16- to 64-year-olds are still close to the record lows predating Covid-19. For context, this is far better than the best periods in the Thatcher, Major and Blair governments thanks to the consistent rise in women’s employment."

Costs are not spiralling. Projected total welfare payments, at around 11 per cent of national income a year, are lower than when David Cameron was prime minister even though there are more pensioners. Total working-age benefits within the government’s welfare cap — including all out-of-work and health-related benefits — will be well below 2010s levels even after Labour’s U-turn on cuts to disability benefits. Going back further, total non-pensioner benefits have hovered between 4 and 5 per cent of GDP for over 40 years."

This is such a welcome summary of where we are. There is a huge job to do tackling poverty and worklessness, but the big picture is that this is all *manageable* and that context matters.
There is no need for a moral panic about the UK's welfare system.

Far from perfect but recent discourse is nuts

Spending is controlled, not spiralling

Worklessness is near record lows
