Canadian. News junkie. Here because Marshall McLuhan was right and the global village has truly arrived (was on Twitter until the village idiot took over).

Recalling this image from anti-Vietnam war days. You’d never get this close now, ICE would never be this restrained.

The PM’s official residence - for security reasons etc. - since 24 Sussex is mothballed - is Rideau Cottage, on the same grounds as Rideau Hall, the Governor General’s official residence, even though Carney (like Trudeau before him), owns a house in Ottawa.

Great! Canadian art showcased in the PM’s office and Official Residence for guests, domestic and foreign, to appreciate. Shouldn’t this always be the case?
Rent or borrow from the National Gallery…isn’t this left-pocket, right-pocket at the end of the day in this case?

In a word: Yes.
Introspection is hard for some.
Not to make light of alarming circumstances, but a generation or two, Americans will reflect and come to the same conclusions as here:

Yes! I was intrigued by what was happening on this site after driving by and looked up on the Town of Oakville’s website. A great infill initiative. Didn’t realize it was enabled by federal funding. As I get older I’m always mindful of what supportive housing options will be available. Nice to see!

This crossed my mind too. When the dust eventually settles, I wonder how many instances will come to light. It’s really a case of “shooting fish in a bathtub” for such sociopaths.

Additionally, someone is always gunning on your flank, externally with clients or internally with the powers that be, saying they can do a better job than you. Not a bad foundation for politics! The difference is that it’s not out in the public - except for central bankers.

“…whether Carney’s experience in structured financial institutions would translate to the unpredictability of politics…”
Financial institutions face unpredictability in spades, whether market related, geopolitical events, competitor manoeuvres etc.

Aw man, to be Mr. Potato Head if only for a day!

🤣
I also like the fact that I can’t name a single judge on the Canadian Supreme Court; meanwhile, I know all nine in the U.S. and their leanings 🤷🏻‍♂️

Seems to be here based on video images and Streetview

When they tell you they plan on throwing out the constitution, believe them.

Reminds me of this in Copenhagen. Certainly made me curious!

Several places with the same 2000 South 25th Ave. address that’s on the podium by the building, but from Streetview, looks like Illinois (Broadview).

I’d click on “Unsubscribe” myself, but I know why professionally you want to see this stuff.

Fair enough.
(The reverse issue, as you know,
is predominantly through control of conventional and social media. I approach it along the lines of global grassroots, standing in solidarity, but I get it.)
Cheers.

Understood.
But the U.S. FEC allows it (scroll down to “Foreign national as campaign volunteer”). The circumstances in the U.S. has global implications, not least of which in Canada at the moment.

I did remote phone banking last fall, calling voters in swing states. The Democrats’ databank / autodialler system has its own phone numbers, so your number doesn’t show up. Interesting experience!
