Good morning. Painted Lady #Butterfly on Sea Aster yesterday. Sea Aster, has gained popularity as a gourmet food, with its young, edible leaves and stems being collected. The Painted Lady is known for its flight speed, reaching speeds up to 20 miles per hour. #ColorADay #YellowThu #EastCoastKin

These are the cut leaf sections from a rose in my garden recently

Also a huge (tree?) Wasp on this umbellifer by the pond

Record count of 60 Peacocks in Purbeck Bunkers ydy, but c30 were dead, eaten by bats! So they went into hibernation early and got munched! Grills have recently been put over entrances to protect the bats and this has clearly encouraged them! @malcolmhull.bsky.social @dorsetbutterflies.bsky.social
New garden visitor this year Yellow-clubbed Glasswing, Scaeva selenitica I think? Laying eggs on a Hazel plant

These have disappeared from my area, as have the box plants…
That’s ragwort they’re on 🧐 (with echium growing very close)
Or can it change its colour as a warning?
Is the pink colour reflected in the light then!? 🤯
