They should do both!

Although Pearse isn't too bad for that, in fairness. The validators for a Leap Card basically are on the platform.

Leap Card should be extended to railway journeys outside major cities!
It’s less for a journey between Greystones and Howth (35km w/1 hr duration)than btw Wexford and Enniscorthy (20 kms, w/22min duration)
Why not encourage modal shift outside of the cities?

'One of the main arguments against such large rail projects is the cost, which is undoubtedly high. However, as a society, we need to consider the costs of not doing these projects and the benefits that we are missing out on'

With leaf fall well underway & twigs/branches from storm damage lying near the edge of the road it’s time to remind drivers that bike users will be taking the lanes.
This is national #roadsafety week but our road safety agencies are silent on this hazard.

As is, with his continued push to not only lift the Dublin Airport passenger cap but also to significantly increase numbers, Minister O'Brien seems more like a minister for worsening climate change than one responsible for climate action and a sustainable transport system.

Brilliant letter below!

Dept of Transport won't fund capacity study for Rosslare-Dublin rail despite population growth. Double tracking, dynamic loops & extra platform could help without costly Bray Head tunnel. Thanks to TDs @rodericogorman.bsky.social, Whitmore & Lawlor for support. NTA response attached. Plans due 2026:
SOUTH EAST ON TRACK
I refer to the matter you raised in Parliamentary Question No. 190 of 25 September last, which has been referred to the National Transport Authority (NTA) for reply.
We note that the Minister provided a substantive response to this Parliamentary Question. To add to the Minister's response, the NTA's Greater Dublin Area Transport Strategy 2022-2042, adopted in 2023, includes a recommendation to extend the DART service to Wicklow Town. It is intended to provide this extension initially through the use of battery-electric DART carriages, which will be able to operate using the overhead electrification as far as Greystones and can then operate under battery power between Greystones and Wicklow larnód Eireann, in collaboration with the NTA, is currently working on the development of design proposals for the railway section between Greystones and Wicklow. While it had been intended to undertake a public consultation in relation to the emerging proposals, it now appears possible to deliver these enhancements largely within the footprint of the current railway line. Accordingly, the focus is now on developing those designs and it is currently anticipated that a planning application will be made to Wicklow County Council in early 2026 for the necessary planning consent to develop the project. In respect of the DART+ Coastal South, this project aims to improve DART services on the existing DART line south of Dublin City, with the current focus on enhancing services between Bray and Greystones. Design work is ongoing to increase the number of trains per hour between Bray and Greystones from 2 to 3. larnród Éireann is currently finalising the development and evaluation of potential solutions to enhance capacity in the line with the aim of identifying an emerging preferred option (EPO). The identified EPO will be subject of a non-statutory public consultation in the coming months.

NTA Chief Executive (Interim).

Dear Wexford CoCo,
If School St 💜💛 was in Stockholm, this is what it would look like.
You see - each time you create a one way street, because 2 way for cars isn’t feasible, you cut off vital cycling routes
Contra-flow for cycling is a solution applied right across Europe!
Let’s do better Wexford 🙏

We are delighted to support #Love30 who are calling on the Oireachtas and every Local Authority to make 30 km/h the default speed limit in built-up areas, but particularly in town centres, residential estates, and in the vicinity of schools and places of public assembly.

Again, I'm probably missing something obvious, but surely it's as simple as checking the timestamp?

If pre-7pm, then issue a ticket; if after 7pm, then don't issue a ticket.

Assuming the camera can get the shot correctly.

Oh yeah? You're probably correct, but what about Feljin's suggestion? ie camera enforcement
