I'm afraid the original is artistically better in every way

When used properly: buttons, dials, etc. are far better at letting a user communicate intent than natural language, especially when computers (being giant logic machines) require you to be very literal about what it is you want out of them, no matter how many abstractions you try to bury that under.
Tech companies really messed up when they popularized the smartphone. A locked down OS controlled by tapping a screen with giant UI elements is the most intuitive interface for the vast majority of people, and the industry has been desperate to evolve past it ever since.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Putting so much effort into the hardware you forget to put any games on it is the industry trend. Even Nintendo is doing it now.
Well?

A screenshot of the Infinite Painter drawing app open to a sketch of a retail employee named Katie, pushing a shopping cart full of boxes. She turns to her left to see a lady standing outside with her left hand pressed on the store window and her right hand pointing up. She asks Katie: "Excuse me, are you still open?"
It's not outright the same as just letting a computer do your thinking for you, but I'd argue "death by a thousand shortcuts" *is* a thing.
Though, he talks about CGI in relation to going full traditional, and it definitely hits on something I've talked about before...

How even fully hand-drawn digital art still has some visible "fake"ness, some loss of humanity to it out of the artist's control.

The Kickstarter for Milton Knight's independent animated short "CAT AND MOUSE" is up. The in-progress work looks incredible! Consider backing if you want to see a genuinely unique cartoon from a very talented cartoonist.
CAT AND MOUSE: An Animated Cartoon About Domestic Violence!
An "old school" animated cartoon, reflecting on the domestic violence I grew up with.

"This is largely in my reaction to CGI and AI."
Bold to call out CGI in the same sentence as AI, but I get it. As much as CGI still requires a lot of upfront human craftsmanship, the way it rapidly replaced theatrical 2D animation felt like the first true "computers are taking over the arts" moment.

30 comics in, and Tapas has been pretty great for me so far, though grouping promos and actual notifications under a single unread count is just cruel.
Between Tiny Toons, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Animaniacs, etc., it was obvious almost immediately when something was animated by TMS. Like, it wasn't even close.

It was especially jarring with Animaniacs where you'd go from an episode/segment done by another studio, to the Wheel of Morality
god went looking for an example of TMS' work for Tiny Toons. doing crazy totally stunting on 'em animation shit for the most mid of mid around
