We cleaned out my Uncle's room yesterday. It took a whopping 50 minutes to put together six donation bags of clothes, box up a dozen framed pictures, clear the walls of his personal stuff, and get it all to the cars.

Apart from the pictures, nothing is left but memories.

The family is on death watch for my uncle. It's been 2.5 years of Lewy body dementia and advanced Parkinson's. I've been a part-time caregiver and the odd-job man for the same period, and for my parents.
The man I loved has been gone for months. Just waiting for the husk to go for closure's sake.
