Multiple papers are like, "Add 0.5 uL of 60X primer/probe mix". I mean, okay but what is the actual concentration so that I know how to make it 60X???

My favorite thing in Molecular Ecology is how we've all stopped adding concentration information for our primers/probes and only talk about how many microliters we added per reaction so that nobody knows the actual needed concentrations.

Our departmental stipend is double this for MS students and it still isn't enough. If we were to transition to a PhD program we would have enough funds for 1 PhD student every 4 years for the entire department.

Yeah, I feel like no one making these decisions has any idea about the long-term costs of PhD program nor do they have a long-term plan as to how to secure those funds.
