I haven't taken any sick time and worked through every illness except covid for the last two years because of my company's policies around required annual hours. 🫠 I think they think people should work unless they're hospitalized and I hate it.
This is honestly really terrible for people who have severe allergies to lots of proteins in regular foods, since pea protein is far less likely to be an allergen. Yikes!
This screenshot takes his comment out of context of the original conversation. I don't think it was intended to mean "nothing written more than 20 years ago is worth reading"
I'm not defending him but he's specifically referring to sci Fi "classics" and situations where a newly interested reader asks for suggestions and is greeted with "you must read x in order to be a real sci Fi fan" when x is something written 50+ years ago by a privileged white man.
Is this a kid thing that will improve eventually, or is this a brain thing that we'll have to support him figuring out how to do himself by the time he lives elsewhere?
This feels particularly relevant to me today since I reminded F, as I apparently have to do every school day despite it being the same routine every school day for years, that he must feed the dog, change his clothes, and brush his teeth before school. Like, he KNOWS the routine. It doesn't change.
It's still mind blowing to me that what came out of all this was not "let's all collectively be less sick by cleaning indoor public air like we clean public water" but "it's up to the individual to do risk assessment at all times" 🙃
