Georgia Power is allowed a set profit rate that's tied to their infrastructure building. Build more = profit more regardless of real demand. There's a commission that tells them Yes or No so they can't game the system for profit.

This is actually important to Georgians; Mr. Hank Green explains what an incoming special election is for, how it works, etc. Basically: a tiny portion of voters can protect all of Georgia against Georgia Power serving itself over serving its captive customers.

I'm growing a bunch of American Chestnut seedlings right now! But I'm doing it from ground zero in the American south. Surely someone has mapped some pure American Chestnuts out there. I know people brought the trees west & the blight stopped where the forests did.

Researching rock art hasn't become quite a nightmare because I know how to adapt my search terms, but gone are the days of simple image searches for cave paintings and petroglyphs. I don't understand inventing so many AI fakes when you have the full wealth of archaeology to turn to.

omg you have just described an agony I feel. Fighting muscle memory. ALL of my artwork -unless- I'm doing the hyper exaggerated shapes thing feels like there's two pilots: what -I- want to do and then the shapes/motions my hands want to do. Drawing doesn't come naturally to me at all; will try this!

I'm curious how you'd feel with a scheduled artistic "play time". Where once a week, even if only 5-15min, you just...messed around. Tried stuff. No productivity, just curiosity and because you'd think it was fun.

You are tough as nails to do what you do. You art desire will change post school. 💙

Being a student is hard on its own. Being a student who works a job too? -Hard-. A full time student who works AND has interests outside of passive media? Insanity Challenge Mode Activated.

I can say that whatever time you can steal back is worth it in the long run. Don't damage your soul. <3

I've got ideas and stories in my own head using human/human adjacent OCs, but never pursued them far outside my mind so I could hone what I'm good at.

Well. I didn't hone what I've learned from sitting on my butt. I'm only good at what I am from spending the time on it.

Any other artists out there turn around and fold in human subjects in equal measure to your animal-based ones or pivot to humans later in your art career?

I'll keep making creature art to the end of my days. But man. I should've practiced drawing people way more by now. I need to fix this.

The only thing I have determined is to keep one's eyes open for opportunity & be prepared to act on opportunity. Someone needs money & you have none to share? That's not your opportunity. Someone needs knowledge you have & can easily share? There's your opportunity. And so on and so forth.
