🚨New Video Game Voice Reel🚨
I love video games, with all their quirks and idiosyncrasies. And there’s nothing more uniquely video gamey than the audio log. To that end, I’ve written and performed a brand new reel highlighting this conceit, and I genuinely think it’s really fun. I hope you enjoy.
Listen, if anyone has a spare £565 and wants to buy ya boi an early Christmas present…

@blankcheck.bsky.social just wanted to say that the energy Marie brings to BC is ALWAYS a delight and it’s a joy to hear the four of you together. Thanks for brightening my Sunday morning!

Bailey’s incredible!!!
Introducing @bbwolfevox.com as... Dalia Volkova!

You may have already heard her voice in our updated demo, but if you haven't, here's a short sample of some of her lines as our protagonist.

We've got a full voice cast in Ambrosia Sky, but the heart and soul of our game is Dalia. 💛
Congratulations!! I can’t wait to play next week ❤️

Many congratulations to my friends on Outer Worlds 2 who I watched toil from afar. Shout out in particular to the narrative designers who kicked ass:

Some days you just end up playing one video game all day and it’s great
This is a mood
...I'm no stranger to hard work, but I'd like to be 😋

Rosewater launched nearly 7 months ago. It reviewed well and had a good launch. I wish it had done a little better, but it’s been a packed year for adventure games.

However, it’s currently sold as many units as Lamplight City did in 1 year, so that’s good.

Indie dev is a marathon, not a sprint!

But 80 Days, Heavens Vault and A Highland Song aren’t! So play one of those instead

you don't understand. as someone who isn't inherently good at art, stealing paintings from the museum is the *only* way i'm able to express myself creatively. i wouldn't be able to paint beautiful portraits. but by breaking into a museum and stealing the paintings, now i am

Does anyone here have a good understanding of the VSDC video editing software, and is able to help me fix an exporting problem I’m having?
I mean let’s also not forget ideas like anyone who wants to be president under no circumstances should be allowed to get the job. That’s explicit in the text!
I dunno - maybe I’m just biased, but I do think there’s something there that, especially at a young age, encourages critical thinking which I think is the true basis of the question here
But I think you want something more subtle in that way. Adams is making fun of the bureaucracy and systems, and encouraging readers to question their previously-held beliefs that the way things have always been is the way things should always be. The golgafrinchans are a good example of that humour
Maybe left-field, but the first that came to mind was something like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I think opening someone’s eyes to a world outside their own, that is funny and engaging, will achieve that goal better than moral parables.
Get outside a little if you can! A little walk, a little trip, a little task. Break up the day with some outdoor time :)

Just saying, in response to all the Cut Spotify discourse…
Also, if you didn’t know: Apple Music FINALLY has an in-built tool where you can import all your tracks, albums, and playlists from other services. Having cut the Spotify cord some time ago, it was a genuine DELIGHT to finally pull all my music over. I’m listening to tracks I haven’t heard in years.
Did you know that REM’s Peter Buck has a new band?? Well, now you do. I’m trying to get back Into Music recently, so Eric’s new substack is an immediate follow.

It’s New Music Day! Found some nice mellow tunes for a drizzly Helsinki day.

When I first met Joel, back in 2013(!), I was in awe of both his ability as a level designer AND his ability to communicate that skill. Twelve years later I am still amazed by both of those things.
With our new demo running during Steam Next Fest, I'm seeing more players discover Ambrosia Sky's immersive sim sensibilities.

I thought it might be fun to share a pair of moment from the demo that illustrates this, through the lens of how I do my work as a level designer.
