I don’t reply to anonymous accounts anymore. Own what you say and I’m happy to talk. Just like in real life. If you see an exception, assume I have a good reason.

Bluesky is the only site where I’ve had to post something like this. Go figure.
Note that the screencapped writer concludes their thread with an attempt to divide the movement. Which is extremely on brand for a certain type of Leftist these days.
I am an actual expert on civil rights law. I have spent half my life studying the movement's victories. I have a bunch of civil rights material framed on my walls. But now it's going to be Bluesky canon that I don't care about civil rights because of a claim that I am told I was "implicitly" making

It's critical to understand that there are a lot of parallels between Bluesky and X in insanity.

On there, you get dumb and angry racists arguing about things you didn't say. On here, you get depressed neurotics arguing about things you didn't say.

NEW: Seth Moulton becomes the first candidate in a Democratic primary for Senate to officially announce that he will return and henceforth reject donations from AIPAC
Seth for
Massachusetts
I am returning AIPAC donations and refusing to accept any donations or support from them. The FEC filing I made yesterday reflects that we are returning donations. Below is my statement explaining why:
I'm cautiously optimistic that the recent breakthrough in Gaza will move us closer to ending the horrific violence in the region. A political resolution that allows Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace is exactly the kind of framework I've been calling for from the beginning.
I support Israel's right to exist, but l've also never been afraid to disagree openly with AIPAC when I believe they're wrong.
In recent years, AIPAC has aligned itself too closely with Prime Minister Netanyahu's government. I'm a friend of Israel, but not of its current government, and AlPAC's mission today is to back that government. I don't support that direction. That's why l've decided to return the donations I've received and will not be accepting their support.
Question: is becoming stupider the worst thing that can happen to you? Are the dumbest people you know also the worst? I can’t say that.
I claim no special insight here. But I *think* the difference is that social media exhausted us, rather than making us dumber, and A.I. purports to fix that exhaustion problem. Though it probably won’t.
"AI won't make us stupid, we said that about TikTok and Facebook and the internet, and even TV, and we just as big brain smart now as ever, just look around, everything good, all very smart, nothing hurt our brains!"

“I have long been distressed by how quickly the threat of nuclear war has faded from both America’s collective consciousness and its popular culture. Bigelow shares that concern, and she has created a film whose settings and scenario are all too possible.”

Quote from 👇
“A House of Dynamite” is all too plausible. I’m a nuke expert - and it scared the heck out of me.

The rumour, for years, is that he inspired the design for Shrek. DreamWorks never confirms that.
It’s getting scary out there. What a lot of people don’t realize, I think, is that the French Angel was quite short. 5’ 7”. But it added to the presentation, in one sense, because a guy like that ‘should be bigger,’ so you could say he was misshapen in yet another way. I like what matches I’ve seen.

Going to keep reupping this! Books in question do not have to be Canadian.
If you have a new or forthcoming Jewish-however-tangentially (or not tangentially!) book you'd like me to review, this is a thing I do for @thecjn.bsky.social so please do alert me to this! I do my own combing but welcome your self-promotion. pbovy at thecjn dot ca . Thank you!
@erikmissio.bsky.social @edkanerva.bsky.social @alcreed.bsky.social AI’d photos worry me, but aside from possibly being colourized, I’m pretty sure this picture is legit. Tillet fascinates me, and shoutout to Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for being the only game in which I could make a decent CAW.
I never saw it as the OP did. John Paul II described his illness as bringing him closer to those who suffered, and the Papacy may be the one executive job on earth where you can legitimately claim an advantage from that. Hasn’t the symbolism of the role always been half the point?

The notion that crime and the economy were so bad 2023-24 that Americans reacting to objective personal material conditions had to do a fascism does not hold water.

If material, why would it be disproportionately white? Do you think nonwhite people don't experience crime or economic challenges?

Who is this “we”?

IDF has been trying to dismantle and disarm Hamas for 2 years. Still hasn’t succeeded (although did cause immense damage both to Hamas and to civilians).
Trump: "We have told Hamas we want disarm. And they will disarm. And if they don't disarm, we will disarm them. And it will happen quickly and perhaps violently. But they will disarm. Do you understand me?"

NEW: Pentagon officials are forcing staff to watch Pete Hegseth's "Warrior" speech he forced generals to listen to.

Officials are even "testing" staff to see if they watched — and are threatening consequences if they lie about watching it or if they mock it, sources tell @swin24.bsky.social and I.

Defense Department sources tell Zeteo that staff have been warned that if they don’t watch or read the speech, or if they speak negatively of it, they could face severe consequences.

The person who said this to me has a new book coming out and their publisher is pushing so hard to get them on the podcast. Love the combo of "I don't respect YOU, but I do respect your capacity to promote ME."
Fun morning being told to my face I’m a fine “public intellectual” but not a “real researcher.”
I wonder if he’ll try to slim down. Candidate usually do.
Well, he probably wouldn’t get hurt there, anyway. Takeshita has to be one of the top prospects for WWE once his AEW contract is up. I think they’d only want MJF and Toni Storm more. And Moxley, I suppose, for shorter-term storylines.
@erikmissio.bsky.social Did you watch the Takeshita-ZSJ match? Takeshita is pretty good from what I’ve seen.

Protest organizers are also recommending that you don't lean into antifa.
I wonder if there’ll a version of this, on a municipal level, once Mamdani’s elected.
