T gel for the win!! When I've compared notes with myT-injecting friends, it seems like the only real difference is I don't get the big uptick in horniness after applying the way they do after injecting.

Jey’s friend, who’s look has been changed for privacy, says “I’m starting T but it’s not injections—and it’s been pretty great!” we see Jey’s friend’s transition from pre-T to years on T with a full beard.

Jey looks excited and says “OH! I didn’t know that was even an option, and you look so happy! Maybe—maybe I could go on T after all!

Narration: I went through a lot of hoops to get there but eventually an endocrinologist prescribed me a dose of T-Gel that I was comfortable with as a nonbinary person.

A timeline of Jey in doctors offices, filling out mountains of paperwork, being put on long waitlists, until finally their endo says “Okay, I’ve sent your prescription off.” And Jey lifts their arms up in success “YAY!”

Narration: T-Gel is a form of topical testosterone. It can come in packets, tubes, or a pump bottle that you apply according to your prescription.

Tubes, packets and the common pump bottle of T-Gel are drawn.

Jey has their hands on their hips looking defensive as speech bubbles fill the entire background behind them, berating T-Gel and saying it’s hard to use or isn’t as good as injections. Jey says “I think it’s really amazing but I’ve also seen it get a bad rap."

Her free hand is in a fist and cocked back, ready to deliver another punch. Little stars of pain sparkle by his neck, where her other hand digs in with her nails.

Completely unbothered by his predicament, Dastardly Devil announces to the reader, "We'd like to talk a bit about PRIMAL PLAY!" Little stars festoon the last two words.

As Dastardly Devil and his girlfriend tussle, he explains, "The way I define primal play is any play that centers on basic physical urges in BDSM. Things such as clawing, biting, chasing, wrestling, playfighting, etc. Think of two dogs playing! That kind of vibe. The difference with pet play is that we're not roleplaying a specific animal. We're just letting our own urges lead!" Off to the side of the page, a human in a leather pup mask and bondage harness "Woof!"s happily as a hand pets them on the head. Narration: While moving houses a couple years ago, I rediscovered my old journal comics!

"Oh?" Hien gasps, as he finds a stack of spiral-bound sketchbooks behind a closet door. He is a Southeast Asian cisgender heavyset man with a short, bushy, black beard, fuzzy body hair, and glasses. He is mostly bald on top, with the rest of his hair pulled back into a bun.

Narration: Out of over 500 pages I had written, one entry caught my eye...

"Oh no..." Panics Hien, as he flips through a sketchbook. Startled sweat and reaction lines bounce off him. "The huge crush I had on Jacob!"

A cascade of sketchbook pages flows over the page. They feature soft pencil sketches of Hien and Jacob, who is a heavyset man with a medium-length bushy beard, and wears a Hawaiian-print shirt. One page includes the handwritten note, "As far as I can remember... Narration: I thought a committed relationship was the prerequisite for all the things I wanted to do. I thought: if I'm not coupled up, I'll simply never experience any physical affection or the closeness that comes with it.

A cartoony, hopeful-looking Hien clasps his hands over his heart as he looks upwards optimistically. Little hearts and excitement lines radiate off him. Behind him towers realistically rendered, monochromatically brown images of bearded, hairy masculine couples kissing, embracing, and cuddling.

Narration: Before my first-ever Pride parade, I decided to ask Jacob out on a date with a handmade choose-your-own adventure comic...

Narration: I'm the sort of person who focuses on what other people want, in and out of the bedroom. This year I've been on a journey to change that... Unmaksing, learning how to be a person... all the hard stuff.

With a dramatic FLOP, Mon falls face-first onto their bed, still completely clothed in all their layers.

Narration: I learned the term FLINTA from a bachata class I went to.

In a flashback, Mon dances confidently with another feminine person of color.

Narration: I chose this party but I am still so nervous!!!

Still in the flashback, a spotlight suddenly floods Mon and their dance partner. They look startled at the sudden attention and the sound effect "DUNUN..." plays overhead.

Back in the present, Mon empties out their tote bag onto the bed, with a wide assortment of kinky accoutrement bouncing out.

"What have I done?" they wonders to themself. "What do I wear?"

Now on their phone, they joins a group titled "Party Chat"

"Hi" they texts to the Party Chat. "I'm new."

"Welcome!" replies a member.

In a montage, Mon tries on a handful of sex outfits in their apartment as the chat replies roll in.

"This is my first play party." Mon types, while trying on a sexy fishnet outfit with bunny ears. They are topless, except for the black tape X-es over their areola and nipples.

"We'll only bite with consent!" Jokes another chat member.

Mon tries on a shiny black micro skirt, bra, and the top of a shirt that only connects two long sleeves, leaving everything else exposed.

Next they put on an elaborately lacy lingerie set with above-the-knee high stalkings and their hair pinned into two little mini buns on top.

"See you tonight!" Another chat members tells Mon.

Mon reads their replies, feeling loved and welcomed. they have settled on a thick buckled collar around their neck, crop top, and shorty-shorts for their outfit.

My first 3 years of T were on gel and it was great! I've switched to injections now because I'm fine with needles, but when I was starting out, gel was way more approachable and less scary for sure!
