I promised you The Ballade of Eric the Butcher, so here it is!

Eric he was a butcher meek
He and his wife they had a stall,
Roasting joint, or sirloin steak
Eric and Sarah sold it all
The customers in Sarah's thrall
All drawn in by her smile so sweet
They knew whatever time they'd call
Eric never ran out of meat

But here our tale becomes more bleak,
For times are hard and meals are small.
When all around the streets we seek
Often to find nothing at all.
The bakers and the grocery stall
Barely have even crumbs to eat
Yet somehow even through it all
Eric never runs out of meat.

No one's seen Sarah for a week
Maybe she's ill could someone call
Over to Eric's house and see
Can anything be done at all
I'd hate to see that family fall
After all they've done for the street!
Surely they're fine though, after all
Eric never runs out of meat

Bones on the floor, blood on the wall
Butcher dragged out into the street
Now we know just how through it all,
Eric never ran out of meat.
