Las Vegas No Kings. #nokings #nokingslv @titus.house.gov , @susielee.house.gov , @repstevenhorsford.bsky.social all in the house. Why are they here? Because Speaker Johnson won't open the House to seat Rep. Grijalva. Release the Epstein Files!

Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go!

Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest.

Good concept, but I'm not sure they're convinced their fealty will keep them safe, they just think that their fealty will keep them safe-ish for now while any perceived disloyalty would result in immediate attack. As you say, they're certainly more afraid of Trump than they are of future Dems/NPs.
I'm starting to wonder if my Soros checks from 2018 are ever going to show.
Only the Sith deal in absolutes.
Think about how you'll feel if you break it.
Sounds like I'd prefer the Democrats do what Thune says they'll do than what I think they'd actually do, TBH.
Sir, there are now *three* frogs in Portland.

We aren't on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We are in the middle of it.

But I worry people don't see the whole scheme. They just pay attention to each new daily outrage. So I went to the Senate floor to explain Trump's plan.

Here's a 🧵of the speech. It's important.
What?! Hey, anybody who might still think this regime is part of a normal political order, how to you take what Posobiec is saying here?
Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.
Leadership!
Trump: "I said one year before to Pete Hegseth, I said, one year before -- where's Pete? In the book I wrote -- whatever the hell the title, I can't tell you -- but I can tell you there's a page in there devoted to the fact that I saw somebody named Osama bin Laden and I didn't like it."

Free Greta Thunberg and the rest of the illegally detained flotilla activists.
Given the state of our Presidency, Congress, and the Supreme(ly corrupt) Court, I'd just say, "We'll see."
Last I checked, Congress makes the laws, not the White House.

Because nobody else was doing it, I created the Bluesky Nevada Politics starter pack. This is a list that contains (1) all NV elected officials currently in office, (2) NV state offices, (3) politically focused NGOs in the state of Nevada. Let me know if I missed anyone.

More water in the air leads to more extreme rainfall
<sigh> I now feel bad that I unsubscribed from Paramount+ last week, because I can't do it now. The only CBS/Paramount product I'll consume from this point is Colbert until his last show.
Appreciate you going out on a limb like this.

This says we should fret about the backlog of gas turbines because it will delay gas's displacement coal. Why can't this lead to faster renewables & storage deployment? Also, a key fact is buried: "gas is cleaner than coal only if methane leaks are kept in check." How's that leak-plugging going?
The Gas Turbine Shortage Might Be a Climate Problem
Gas turbines may be the Labubu of climate accessories: They’re in high demand, with a years-long waitlist. Gas can help move away from coal, but AI could mean burning lots more of it. We unpack why a ...

... about social media is likely to be with staff, and when the topic presents itself, I will definitely be telling them why they shouldn't be listening to voices on the big platforms. In the mean time, I maintain that most people should leave and stay away from Twitter.
Assuming "Ty's" is "this", most of my time talking to legislators themselves is me telling them that it's not 2015 any more, 2015 is never coming back, and they need to start acting like they understand what's at stake and not pretending comity is possible during a coup. Any discussion I have ...

I’m tired of saving Trump voters from the consequences of their own decisions.

If farmers want a bailout, they should call their republican congressmembers and ask them to use their article 1 powers to get rid of the tariffs.
look we’re obviously going to bail out the farmers and I think there’s a reasonable case for doing it given that we’re doing the tariffs, since they are getting absolutely rocked by the tariffs.

but this is an argument for not doing the stupid tariffs.
