Mick Heron - Clown Town.

Sean Barrett is 85. A colossus in the narration world. Slough House books wouldn't be the same without him, so Heron either needs to write quicker or we have to protect Barrett at all costs.

As for the story. Far fetched and humorous. Possibly playing to the TV.

Hyperbole aside, the "I've got a new job" graphic on LinkedIn, is possibly the worst thing on the internet. And I am on the internet.

Just saw the score.

Are England playing on an underground map?

Is it coming home?
Are England going to win the world cup?
Has anyone written a book about the world cup?
Should we be going to a war torn nation like that US?
Can anyone get me two tickets for a match in Mexico City?

Random interruption - I ate far too many Pasticciotto this summer. If you like custard, cherry and pastry, then I can't recommend them highly enough.

I can't tell if that is an insult or a compliment. Either way, I am going to test it out in the playground tomorrow.

Sets in school are never designed to help the child, but more so to try and boost the chance of getting good grades across the school, and to not disrupt the high flyers.

I was punished from being able to study "high brow" books, simply because I tried to blow a science lab up.

If you were seen as a thicko in school, what literature you got to read was very much dictated to by the fact a teacher thought you might be too stupid to read Shakespeare or one of the classics. You were given modern stuff because ye olde language would mean you'd struggle and not pass your GCSE

Rewrote it. Which was confident thing to do.

So here it is on confidence in Delivery Management and where it comes from.

"How much did you spend on this?"
"Our whole marketing budget."
"Apple TV has a marketing budget? Why haven't we been using it to promote our shows?"

Trying to write the latest newsletter in the most popular miserable Delivery Management category, and boring myself with my thoughts.

"What's my motivation?"`

"Imagine you have bills to pay, but no money. Then all of a sudden you get your hands on money. The money isn't yours. It's for the Christmas club. You character needs that money. They are conflicted. Can you give me conflicted?"

"I'll give it a go."

Book people are no different to other people with a passion about things. Anyone with passion is a wrong'un.

Be less passionate 😀

ASO have created a beast. It's never the race, it's the carnival built around the race from the very first day of the season. Every day from the first race of the road season is focussed on three weeks in July. It's even painful as a spectator of the sport.

You wait a week and someone will steal it off social media and start printing it with no view as to who created it.

I know people said it was bad... but I didn't realise it was "spoof comedy thriller" bad.

I am being made to watch the final (for now) Mission Impossible. As a non-completist (is that a word?) I could be happy finishing halfway through the last one.
northernwrites.bsky.social
I quite liked the first one, as it was more spy/espionage like that TV show... Than just running at a camera. I should have stopped at two. That was hot garbage

Len Leighton - Mexico Set

I am really enjoying the Bernard Samson books, but like the Slough House books, they would be half the length if the spies just trusted each other.
