His credits are more than twice that of his famous sister Hattie! He also made history as the only Black actor to appear on I LOVE LUCY, playing Sam the Porter in the 1955 episode “The Great Train Robbery."

Today we celebrate the legacy of the underappreciated and under-recognized Sam McDaniel. McDaniel was a prolific actor who appeared in over 200 films and television shows during his 31-year career, often in uncredited roles despite having speaking parts.
