Jeg vet faktisk om noen, men de flyttet sørover igjen straks de hadde oppfylt kravene. Det lønner seg veldig for lærere, for det er mange stillinger å få i nord. Men for min egen del tenker jeg at jeg da bytter ut litt gjeld med masse vinterdepresjon, og det er det ikke verdt.

I keep coming back to #Hitler and #Trump. Although a lot of historians don't seem to acknowledge the link, Trump is a lot like Hitler, because they both rule(d) using the techniques of an entertainer. This is something we need to take seriously. Translation in alt.

Hitler himself expressed in 'Mein Kampf' the constitutive superiority of speech; for he considered classical written culture unsuitable for winning over 'the broad mass of a people', as these always only succumb to the power of speech. The speech was therefore the royal road to generating political following. But how did Hitler appear in his maiden speeches? What do the sparse text testimonies tell us about how he acted as a speaker on these occasions? Research agrees that he appeared as an 'entertainer'. His speeches were not long-winded and full of academic jargon; they did not dwell on tedious enumerations of facts, but came straight to the point. The political opponent was identified and attacked with a mixture of irony, wit, and sarcasm, so that the mood in the hall soon boiled and provoked interjections. The speaker Hitler attracted the audience because he delivered a performance with high entertainment value, where the style was at least as important as the content.

Det er et veldig godt poeng. Jeg føler alltid at *jeg* er sinka fordi syklene kjører fortere enn meg i sykkelfeltet. Og større hjul ville gjort svingradiusen bedre, og muliggjøre bedre veigrep. Jeg har valgt slik fordi jeg ikke kan lade slike batterier trygt hjemme, ellers hadde jeg hatt min egen...

Jeg tror deffo vi trenger bedre lovverk her. Jeg setter pris på de scooterne, men jeg er også typ tysk nøyaktig med å følge det som er av regler, særlig vikeplikt, blinking og å aldri kjøre på fortauet. Jeg ser folk flest på hjul ignorere røde lys, vikeplikt osv, og mange farlige situasjoner oppstå.

Men assa. Ser han ikke at han i grunn argumenterer *for* et tysk-inspirert system? Hele argumentasjonen der går jo på å knuse det svarte markedet (og derfor eliminere granatkasternes raison d'être)... 🙄 Men det er jo lettere å skyve på skylden i stedet for å gjøre noe selv, da, det er jo klart.

Det er helt grusomt å måtte sitte og se på at det er sånn der borte uten å kunne gjøre noe! F..., hadde jeg kunnet, hadde jeg whoosja alle som ville og trengte det ut og over dammen. Det er umenneskelig! Men landet har jo en skikkelig kjip historie jmf minoriteter... Det er jo dessverre ikke nytt. 😓

Jeg har en kompis der borte som er både trans og som er i ICEs målgruppe utseendemessig (med lovlig opphold!). I følge ham er det bare de økonomisk priviligerte som faktisk kan flykte (pass og dokumenter er for dyrt og de kan bli nekta, reisen er svindyr og inntekta alt for lav). Jeg er v. bekymra.

The fourth US republic is dying, guys. Comparisons to Germany and similar is appropriate. (I have an MA in German area studies.)What is now important is how everyone deals with it. My suggestion would be standing together and standing up for democratic values. Don't let the bastards grind you down.

Only twice, eh? ^.^ I had a teenage hangup on Tolkien, I've read the entire HoME at least once, Silmarillion at least five times and LotR more than fifty times. 😂😅 I often get bored on long plane trips, and would love to get up to shenanigans with Merry and Pippin. It would not get boring, for sure.

Yeah, I dropped that particular rescue organization after that for overall extremely bad practises and lack of foster home follow up and supplied equipment. ("Here! Have a wild cat! Byeee!"🚗💨)

My own cat I've trained to jump in on his own accord, for the record. But yeah, when I say feral, I mean feral, as in, no human contact at all before me. They had just been rescued from a cat colony, poor things.

Good tip! But catching Kitty by the scruff - especially Mama Cat - turned out to be *a lot* harder than you'd think. 😅 She bit me so hard and kept going nom-nom-nom. 😅😅 I couldn't feel the flesh under my thumb for days after that. Poor Mama. The two kittens were also razor blade buds. But yeah.

Oh, yeah, seconded. I was a foster home for a family of feral cats once. I needed to get them *into a carrier* to take them to the vet for vaccines. Oh, the bitey & scratchy. My arm was numb. Even the vet was impressed with my handling, and inside I was just like "don't look at my arms, dude..."

Det er ganske spesielt å sitte og se på Dagsrevyen at noen en er dønn sikker på er en tidligere elev blir lagt i håndjern på direkten for å ha demonstrert mot den feige og håpløse fotballkampen mot Israel på Ullevål stadion. Buu!

Ikke noe rart de pakker seg inn når man vet av erfaring hvor raskt politiet er fram med tåregassen. Jeg har vært på en del demoer i ulik kontekst hvor uklare beskjeder og uprovosert aggresjon fra politiet har ført til avisoppslag om "kaotiske tilstander". 🫩🙄
