because they got caught out.
It’s all interesting though - and might galvanise the powers that be to make some much needed changes etc and to more external investment in the sport, as with Red Bull to Newcastle.

They’re right to not be happy - the plan so far doesn’t address any of the logistics, and having been called out on the overlap with the Rugby Championship, they’re now saying that they think that should be moved to coincide with the 6 Nations. Not the worst idea out there but they’re promoting it

Which completely dilutes what R360 has been saying, that it will be the best players in the world. It won’t be.

I know - but what is the actual profit compared to the turnover? HK may make a profit (I’m sure that it does) but the 7s circuit is bankrolled and sanctioned by World Rugby.
And would that translate to 15s?

I had someone reach out to me via Instagram about all of this after my chatter re sporting governance. Said I’d be delighted to have a discussion … they’ve gone very, very quiet since …

Having just read more about R360, Ponzi scheme would seem to be an apt description.
I’d love to know why they think they’re going to make buckets of money in a sport which barely breaks even.

It’s Roger Moore’s birthday
Here’s a classic anecdote about the great man to cheer you up on a damp Tuesday.

That’s quite some book, especially in light of current events.

Trump took office with a Israel-Hamas ceasefire in place, then announced a vision for Gaza as a US-owned resort, with most Palestinians living there gone. Israel restarted military ops in March and imposed famine. Thousands of dead Palestinians later, the Trump admin helped broker another ceasefire.
Opinion | Trump’s Nobel peace prize campaign is the least important part of the Gaza deal
If the ceasefire holds, the administration deserves much credit. But the fixation on Trump getting a prize distracts from things that actually matter.

Absolutely this … and when was Eddie last involved with club rugby …

Translated….things aren’t going so well in Japan. I’ve burned every other bridge in rugby. I might need a coaching gig soon.

You could be on to something here - one of the Murdochs supporting it perhaps …

Absolutely, thank god! Just making the point that we have religious extremists here as well.

I don’t think it would be - people are more focused on his other abhorrent policies about immigration etc. Abortion rights would go over their heads until it’s too late.

Have you come across the Wee Free in Scotland …

Isn’t that the point though? Access to abortion could have been protected by politicians chose not to …

And when they’re backing a political party in the UK, which is gaining momentum, that’s terrifying. We all know that Farage would sell his soul to get into Downing Street (if he has a soul - that’s another debate); if that means outlawing abortion, he will do his utmost to outlaw it.

When your VP Vance is commenting on anti abortion protests in Scotland and is indirectly threatening not only the Scottish Govt but the UK Govt over it, believe me, we’re rightly concerned about it - because we are well informed and are watching with horror what is happening in the US.

Sadly not, because it’s about power, control and putting women back in their place …

Freedom of speech does not mean, not should it mean, freedom from consequence, or the power to force people to listen to you. That’s what they really want - to force people to listen to their rhetoric and to agree with it. They don’t like freedom of speech when it’s used to criticise them!
nicksjj.bsky.social
I completely agree with you. Groups like this, and the collective naivety towards their possible impact, is absolutely terrifying - because it starts with abortion rights and extends to women’s health and women’s rights.
As for their thoughts regarding freedom of speech - that’s laughable.

That they’re saying nothing is the answer …
