Trick R Treat To Receive Theatrical Rerelease Treat
Warner Bros and Legendary have announced an arrangement with Fathom to screen the cult horror classic Trick R Treat, first released in 2007, on big screens around the country this October. If you missed seeing this in theaters….then you’re just like every other human on Earth. Believe it or not, Trick R Treat was NEVER released theatrically. This is the first time. Why? Well, the 2000s were a bad decade for the horror genre. There were bright spots, but what made it to the screen tended to be the weakest sauce possible, relying on jump scares and moldy tricks instead of anything fresh. It was believed that, with ticket sales for horror as low as they were, an anthology movie would be “too quirky” to succeed. So it was released direct to video, and there it found its audience. For those who have never seen the film, here’s what you get: “Trick R Treat weaves together sinister stories set on Halloween night: a high school principal, Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3) moonlights as a serial killer; a young virgin’s, Anna Paquin (X-Men franchise) search for the right man turns horrific; “Emma” Leslie Bibb (“The White Lotus”) and her husband […] The post Trick R Treat To Receive Theatrical Rerelease Treat appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Agree about the dialogue, especially Danielle
Harris's. That poor kid got saddled with the worst lines. Have you seen parts 5 and 6, though? They make part 4 look pretty darn good by comparison.

Mr. Buzzkill is a hilarious name for a horror villain!

#horrorwriterschat The protagonist in my novel feels scarcity on an emotional level due to her lack of meaningful connections with other people.

Q2. So many of you are diving in courageously. I salute you. Don't worry, now we go more abstract.
#HorrorWritersChat
Q2
How does scarcity or deprivation shape the worlds you build in your stories?
nickrwriter.bsky.social
Actually I often pair desperation with the supernatural, but desperation by itself can absolutely be scarier than anything else!

#HorrorWritersChat, hmmm.... I think determination is the scariest of all.

You could be determinated to live, to beat the horrors, and fail. That's the scariest.

Then, there's the determination of the horrors to get you...

So, I suppose desperation since they could be loose synonyms.

Q4.
Do hang around for the outro, in around 10 minutes.

Which is the easier route? Or the more satisfying?

Everyone equally. The stuff I write is pretty universal in terms of its spookiness. #horrorwriterschat
spookyxpickle.bsky.social
#HorrorWritersChat, I try to write all different kinds of characters and scare them.

However, there are certain people I do want to bite back at. I'm personally a fan of revenge horrors - more of a haunting rather than absolute gore.
erynmccee.bsky.social
#HorrorWritersChat Q3.

Who do you scare? As a writer, it's our chance to bite back, perhaps.
nickrwriter.bsky.social
I mainly write supernatural horror and slashers, although I enjoy virtually any type of horror subgenre. I'd say I'm more financially poor than morally poor at the moment! 🤣
#horrorwriterschat
erynmccee.bsky.social
Oh right then here we go, if it glitches I'll wait till it's back up then fire the next.
Can't say fairer than that. Hi #HorrorWritersChat, let's talk riches. Or poverty. Moral or cash, I don't mind which.
Horror is one of the more egalitarian genres I think. More room for poor...

No links please.
Question One
Assemble, horror bods!
Tell me what kind of horror you write, and how poor are you - financially or morally? You choose....

Damn, I misread that as Freddy's Dead, the sixth movie, LOL. I've never seen Freddy's Nightmares. That's cool that it's available though. Seemed like it was impossible to find for a long time.

This is my least favorite Elm Street movie, but for free, I might give it another chance. Haven't seen it in years.

It's got some atmosphere and style, but it's
still one of the weakest installments of the series. It moves too far away from the simplicity of the earlier movies.

🍿 SHUDDER Film 6 of 31: Hellbender 😈

(Friendly reminder that this is Kellie's opinion - Sarah's may differ 😉)

The 1st thing that stands out about this movie is its GORGEOUS cinematography and visuals. The 2nd thing is the cast/crew being all family members. Third is the music. Loved this one.
