New paper alert ⭐️! We make the case that truly trauma-informed assessment must also be dissociation-informed, providing process-related guidance.

We outline why dissociation matters in assessment and how to attend to contextual processes to be dissociation-informed.

“They were careless people…they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness…and let other people clean up the mess they had made…” -- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby (April 10, 1925).
Update! ⭐️
This past weekend, I attended the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation’s Annual Conference! I was awarded two awards: the Outstanding Student Award and Pierre Janet Writing Award. I feel so honored!

I was also able to do two presentations at the conference 😊!
Thanks for sharing this, Liz.

The purpose of the first draft is to exist
It’s helpful to hear others’s stories like this— definitely helps me give myself some grace!
Always. It’s funny how that works! (There was a pattern of that for me yesterday 🤣!)
