OK people this is not a drill - my cousin has expressed an interest in philosophy, she needs a book recommendation. What's a good thing to read if you have no philosophy background?
Since all my original posts are freely available, you might consider an alternative interpretation of that free trial offer.
I have been mulling a paper on Dialectics and The Great Escape. But maybe I should delay that and watch The Rockford files first!
It's good that they are talking about this
Well, you reminded me of Rawls at the right moment:)
This should go Viral on X.

Update:
I posted prematurely. The final tally is:
1. Jenann Ismael
2. Katherine Brading
3. Carlo Rovelli
4. Robert DiSalle and Howard Stein
5. Nick Huggett (generally super technical but my students love his work on Zeno)
6. Eric Schliesser

Honorable mention bc of technicality John Earman

Based on my comments on my Space & Time seminar students’ first paper outlines, apparently I have a short list of favourite philosophers:
1. Jenann Ismael
2. Carlo Rovelli
3. Robert DiSalle
4. Nick Huggett
If my students were more mathematically oriented, Earman would be there

Also, what do they read by me in that course?:)
Wait, what, how did I sneak into this list?
Thank you. I was worried I mashed too many issues together in the post. So this is reassuring.
