I suppose I look at it as a kind of spin on body horror, with Owen's fears trapping him in a body that's actively hurting him and that manifesting as the reality-blurring world he begins to find himself in.

While We Wait Here is such an intriguing mesh of things. That mesh is a bit loose in places, but it doesn't massively detract from an atmospheric, apocalyptic tale of final clarity and regret.
