This will be my #100HorrorMoviesIn92Days (2025) thread on BlueSky.

From August 1st through October 31st, I will add all the horror films I watch for the first time for this challenge.

Let's see how far I get this time!

Drew Struzan made movie posters that were, simply put... Iconic.

THE THING, INDIANA JONES, BTTF 1-3

But for me, his "poster" for a non-existent THE DARK TOWER movie, used in THE MIST, was that one that will always stay with me.

Long days and pleasant nights to you, paintslinger.

Art based on Stephen King's THE DARK TOWER, featuring Roland standing in front of a door and a rose, guns in both hands, dressed like a cowboy. Art by Drew Struzan, used in THE MIST movie.

Got an early evening showing on the Friday. Hopefully, it will be a nice treat for the start of a relaxed weekend!

Absolutely the same, but then that's true of most horror for me!

This reminded me I hadn't fully watched Suspiria 2018, and so now I have, and it should be in here too!

Lol, 3015. I was definitely tired when I wrote this.
neilbolt.bsky.social
Very much a 'sound up, lights off' film!
neilbolt.bsky.social
I suppose I look at it as a kind of spin on body horror, with Owen's fears trapping him in a body that's actively hurting him and that manifesting as the reality-blurring world he begins to find himself in.
neilbolt.bsky.social
Oh, Possessor and Upgrade too. No idea why I left them out.

While We Wait Here is such an intriguing mesh of things. That mesh is a bit loose in places, but it doesn't massively detract from an atmospheric, apocalyptic tale of final clarity and regret.

This week, @neilbolt.bsky.social & @notfunnyj.bsky.social attempt to survive their final shift against the backdrop of the apocalypse in While We Wait Here! #HorrorSky

The Doll (1919)
Directed by Ernst Lubitsch

In this absurd silent comedy, a young man’s refusal to marry leads him to buy a lifelike doll to serve as his bride, which, unbeknownst to him, is actually the dollmaker’s daughter.

Outside of Sonic games, there's no platformer I've replayed as much as Jak and Daxter. Heartily agree it's all in the structure, gently guiding you to discovery in fun ways.

Been thinking about this on and off since finishing it and chatting about it. It's gonna be up there with the best for me come year's end.

This Week, @neilbolt.bsky.social & I chatted about Vile: Exhumed, a time capsule of the internet that tackles contemporary issues with engrossing unease. #HorrorSky

I did start one, but probably chose the wrong format (solo with guest) for personal momentum.
