Today, President Trump issued numerous executive orders that will harm Nebraska families, workplaces and entire communities.
In the following days we will continue to share information on these actions, many of which are likely to be challenged in court.

Without this extension, health care costs will skyrocket for Nebraskans.

Call or email your members of Congress now to tell them to fund the government and keep health care affordable: bit.ly/NEAPTC. We will keep you updated as the shutdown continues.
It is crucial that the funding bill includes a permanent extension for the expiring enhanced Advance Premium Tax Credits, the subsidies that help make health care affordable for a vast majority of the 135,000+ Nebraskans with coverage through the ACA Marketplace.
Without action from Congress to fund the federal government, a government shutdown started today.

A government shutdown could mean putting the nation’s economy at risk, delaying essential services, disrupting pay for federal workers and making it harder for people to put food on the table.
Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and for your continued advocacy, we will keep you posted on further actions you can take to oppose this harmful and cruel detainment camp!
Last week, we asked you to tell Governor Pillen that we say NO to opening a large-scale federal detainment camp anywhere in our state. 🚫

Nebraskans made it clear: More than 18,300 people from 386 towns and cities throughout our state signed this petition saying this is NOT who we are.
🚨PETITION IS LIVE: Sign today to tell Governor Pillen that Nebraskans say NO to opening a large-scale federal detainment camp anywhere in our state. bit.ly/NOT_IN_NE

This is not who we are.

NE is a state that welcomes our neighbors and values the contributions of local moms, dads, coworkers, neighbors, and friends. We don't want to be known as a state that separates families & locks up members of our communities in ICE detainment camps. neappleseed.org/49711

Final CBO score of the "big beautiful bill" is out

Largest Medicaid cuts ever - in fact, at least 4 times the size of the previous largest; $894-$990 bn cut

Kicks 10 million off health insurance

Largest SNAP cuts ever, $197 bn cut

Still increases the deficit by $3.4 trillion from huge tax cuts
Call NOW and tell Congress:

⛔ NO cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act
⛔ NO cuts to SNAP food assistance
⛔NO funding for separating families
⛔NO to prioritizing the rich getting richer

What now? The House will be back and work to quickly vote again on the most extensive cuts Congress has ever considered.

We urge you to call your Representative and tell them to STOP this bill from final passage. You can call or email here: bit.ly/NO_CUTS2025
‼️LAST CHANCE ‼️
The Senate continues to debate the budget reconciliation bill that will devastate Nebraska communities by taking away SNAP and Medicaid from tens of thousands - all while funding sweeping deportations of longtime community members.
The Senate has been moving quickly, with policy proposals shifting daily - but their goal remains clear - to take away healthcare, food access, and other basic-needs programs in order to fund tax breaks for billionaires and sweeping deportations of longtime community members.
The Senate just released their budget reconciliation bill text and will start debate soon on the most extensive cuts that Congress has ever considered.
The Senate could vote any day now - call and email your senators again and tell them to vote NO. 🔗 bit.ly/NO_CUTS2025

Like many of you, I have been monitoring what has been happening nationally and the impact this has on Nebraskans.

I was proud to join a bipartisan group of colleagues this past week to encourage our federal delegation to ensure Nebraskans are not left behind.
Call Senator Ricketts & Senator Fischer TODAY and tell them to vote NO on spending toward separating Nebraska families, and NO to devastating cuts to health care & food assistance, and NO to tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.
