What a fantastic piece 🖤
(I'm currently on a T.Kingfisher binge but I haven't read this one!)

“Yew tree on Lothrie Burn”, watercolour on hot pressed cotton paper.

I always stop to look at this tree on my daily walk, it was about time I painted it! :)

Greta Thunberg has arrived in Greece following her deportation from Israel,
after the Gaza aid flotilla was intercepted
#GlobalSumudFlotilla
She said:
“I could talk for a very, very long time about our mistreatment and abuses in our imprisonment.
Trust me, but that is not the story.”

Thanks Fox! It was created for the Tarot of the Witch's Garden (the Death card!)

Celeste dos Cravos (2025), acrylic gouache (+ tiny bit of watercolour) on hot pressed paper (A3)

The traditional version of the illustration I painted digitally last year, now as I had first envisioned it :)
Illustration by Eleonor Piteira featuring a woman on a balcony, holding a bouquet of red carnations, giving one of them to a soldier passing below, placing it on the muzzle of his gun while he looks up at her. All around, other soldiers walk beside him, some wearing red carnations on the muzzles of their guns too, others waiting for their turn to get one. On the background, Portuguese tiles frame the woman, while the balcony's railing slowly transforms into a streetlamp typical of Lisbon (with a caravel and 2 ravens, the symbols of the city).
Yours too Hampus, as always! :)
Seasonally appropriate too 💛🍁
Oh absolutely, we've already seen skilled legit artists being accused of making art using AI for trivial reasons
I talked to the organiser about how AI sucks for multiple reasons (within their earshot) - and to be fair he seemed pretty clued in for someone his age, and he agreed - but I don't think he can spot them as easily as we can
Tabled at a local market today.
On my left: a woman selling "original" designed totebags (featuring AI cats).
On my right: "hand burnt wooden artwork" (laser engraved AI images).
Uuuuuugh. 🙃
On top of that I had to listen to them brag to customers about how long it takes to make them.
