I see, sorry I misunderstood. Well, save games _normally_ don't break between engine updates unless some really, REALLY big update got in, so I guess my answer is... it highly depends. Unfortunately it's unavoidable in the case of giant changes

DZDoom was a shortsighted name hastily scribbled down. To understand the context, things were moving so fast that there wasn't even time to properly decide a new name. After the initial action taken, we finally agreed on the name UZDoom and changed it.

tl;dr bad old name, it's now UZDoom

GZDoom's save files, and mods, will be 100% compatible with UZDoom! You'll just have to move the files over (we'll post some instructions eventually to help those who might be struggling with it)

Yeah the final name is UZDoom. "DZDoom" was a result of me being violently woken up when I was ready to head to bed and the consensus from everyone was "quick we need to fork this project before everything gets deleted"

Plus the first name sucks and is already taken apparently

i can only pray that the team working on the new fork of gzdoom sets texture filtering to off by default. not the worst opinion of graf by far, but goddamn was it irritating to have to turn off the "make doom look worse" option every time i made a new cfg file so I could set mod specific controls
