Just get the UB820 if you'd prefer not to agonize over it. It's the best one you can get without going into the overpriced "hobbyist tier"

4k has 4000 pixels. Regular BD is 1080p. Less detail. 4k discs also support more dynamic lighting.

The 4k discs often come from a newer scan of the film, so it's an all-around better presentation instead of "just" more detail.

Get the Panasonic UB420 or UB820. The 820 has Dolby Vision. Otherwise they're the same. The UB150 is cheaper and has DV but doesn't have upscaling.

I have the 420, don't watch enough films with DV to care.

The Sony player is cheaper, with DV, but has a reputation for freezing on 4k UHD discs.

In Intriguing Furniture news: yesterday I visited Lichfield Cathedral and found a new 13 metre long table made from a 5000-year-old oak log discovered perfectly preserved in a peat bog in 2016. The cut planks took 9 months to dry out, losing 2 tonnes of weight in the process. Definitely haunted...
