Reminder: Furloughed employees and contractors still get 10% off at Capitol Hill Books for as long as the shutdown lasts.
I’m just DNFing books now. It’s much easier than finishing them! 🤓

Gritting my teeth for Ray Carney’s safety—how he ‘earned’ those Jackson 5 tix 😱—in Colson Whitehead’s Crook Manifesto for library book discussion. What are you reading or looking forward to this #ThursdayBookChat? 📚💙

If you love books, hit that ❤️.
If you really love and support libraries, go ahead and repost this!
And if you don’t like either… well, at least you read this far. 😉

My book comes out today! It’s sad and funny and a little spooky and a lot mysterious and very weird, and you can buy it wherever fine books are sold in indie stores bookshop.org/p/books/happ...
Well, guess what the library had on the shelves?!!
I like the yellow and black one a lot and the one with the car but I obviously have no idea how any of them work for the actual book. Thanks for the recs!
I still haven’t read anything by SGJ. I had to return The Buffalo Hunter Hunter to the library before finishing. Have you read anything else by him?

Trying to get this one back to the library before my last renewal expires. Very curious how he wraps it all up…

Today I have Generations, a memoir by Lucille Clifton, who was nominated for two poetry Pulitzers in one year! This edition features an introduction by Tracy K. Smith. What are you reading or looking forward to this #ThursdayBookChat?

Curious to eventually hear what you think of this one. I was moving through it kind of slowly and returned it unfinished early to the library because I knew there were a lot of others waiting for it and I had too many other reads ongoing. I may return to it at some point…

Thanks! I tried to draw an octopus on a bike once—that one didn’t turn out so well! 🤣
Could have sworn I had done a few more drawings than this that I could share for #WorldOctopusDay
