I’m a thrice-grown adult who *every time* I open my top-loading washing machine (which, let’s be honest, is not nearly enough), I horrify myself imagining someone coming up from behind and shoving me inside of it and locking me in, ensuring I slowly die and no one can find me for months.

Yes! The Columbia one was the same, but in a different way. Pretty much everyone in town was a regular—for years. People would just come in and hang for hours. I miss that so much. A community meeting spot like that.

I worked at Streetside! And then I worked at the one in Columbia. Just went to a Streetside reunion. I also hung at Blueberry Hill all the time, but in the early/mid 90s. My mom briefly ran a blues club and is STILL a Soulard regular. Goes to all the shows! She goes out at least once a week. 😅

Oh, and then a few years later, when I was in college in Columbia, MO, I was “gently stalked” by this alcoholic cop who used to frequent the record store where I worked.

He *fake arrested* me because of it, and then was suspended not for that, but bc he was *drunk while doing it.* ACAB always.

I used a fake ID to get into this show in St. Louis two days later. Made it with some tape and a Polaroid camera. Gave myself the name Alice Rickhoff.

Then the cops were called to a “riot” at the club and Alice Rickhoff got in trouble.

There are, BUT I am using stupid Custom Ink bc it seems to be the cheapest and you have to order a certain amount in bulk at the same price. Let me see if I can find some other options, though.

Because I wanted to avoid cleaning my house, I decided to make these. Not screen printed, of course, but "hand-designed by a Due-Paying Antifa Member" on 100 percent cotton Bella canvas T-shirts. Who wants one? Let me know your interest and I will figure out cost and logistics.
