The reason the meme is not true is that while many super rich pay low taxes, most wealthy individuals pay almost all the federal tax. 85% of all income tax is paid by the top 20% of wage earners. Well over 40% of all taxes are paid by the top 10 percent of wage earners. They also own most assets.

This isn't really true. The middle class is being crushed by property taxes (schools), Healthcare costs (which are shifting to them), and social security tax (which is over 14 % if you count your employers share or are self employed). Social security tax is the largest federal tax for most people.
