Florida Wonk. Not so deep state.

You graduate from college with a degree and a shitty job market and can pay the bills going into retail/food service OR going to work for ICE. ICE will 100% pay better. But the type of jobs you want in the future are going to understand the year as a Barista on your resume much better than ICE.
I don't even know if it is necessarily that higher education means that they can get/hold a better job AT THE MOMENT. Lots of highly educated Federal workers have been let go in the last year. I think it is more consideration about the future.
I know it isn't true but whenever I hear about Trump and the destruction of the White House I just imagine he is in the bulldozer like this.
He would never!

Not without stamping his name on there first.
I mean, when one of my state’s dogshit reps was the CFO of Florida he supported a bill that would have given Donald Trump 5 million dollars to help with legal fees so…https://floridapolitics.com/archives/654313-jimmy-patronis-touts-bill-to-give-5m-to-donald-trump-for-political-discrimination/
You can tells the people who are chronically online because they think the world is divided into Ivy League professionals and edgelord shitposters, when IRL most people will never meet anyone from either of these groups.
It's possible that the best case scenario is that we elect a bunch of empty suits and leave the permeant staff (aka deep state) to actually run things through them while they do the photo ops and speeches.
The deeper sort of long term issue is that the people under 50 who actually have the traits that would make them good at governing and leading are the types of people who would never imagine actually running for office, meaning the only people who do run are fundamentally damaged in some way.
I suppose my stance is that there’s no way we get out of this intact if we do not take necessary risks or take unnecessary risks. The Nazi skull tattoo is an unnecessary risk.
I suspect the second fact is quite often responsible for the first one.
If you stopped sexually harassing people because now you know that you might get caught, or you stopped trolling people on the internet because you realized it comes with a social cost, you haven't actually CHANGED as a person. You're just waiting until you can get away with it again.
This is adjacent to people complaining that "Cancelled Celebrity can never work again just because the did a LITTLE sexual harassment" or who joke about how everyone was on 4Chan/KF in their 20s, so it isn't a big deal.

They want credit for being better without doing the work of being better.
Look, nobody should be allowed to run for office at 77, except of course for Bernie Sanders who should have been handed the nomination in 2020 at the age of 79 and following a heart attack.
Somehow, Palpatine returned but they were like “aw no, can’t bring back Ben Solo”.
I actually work in gaming legislation and when I explain that a slot machine is legal because it isn't actually a slot machine, it is running an invisible horse race...well...it's something!

I'd like to point out that this was the "No Kings" rally, so technically Jesus could be the one King. Thanks, yes this is a repurposed Simpsons joke.
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, & Charlie Kirk was willing to say it & he got killed for it."
I minored in Theater at the urging of my Political Science Professors (my major) because I was interested in it anyway, and they all said that it was an important area of overlap that rarely got attention. (Jokes on all of them, went to law school and became a not-lawyer).
Counterpoint: you are underestimating the power of poster madness, some of them will be asking if instead of a cigarette they could get a last skeet before the firing squad.
Seeing him back in the news has made me so weirdly nostalgic for watching the Morton Downey Jr. show at 2 AM while in high school.
I am 100% the girl that people want to try and set up in theory because my female friends find me so much fun but it’s a classic example of what women find attractive and fun not being what men are looking for.

(Boys don’t like when you are funnier than them).
I am 100% sure that these responses also happened in the past but the would be cupids were jot deterred by them. Maybe because of the lack of other options. But I think my friends who did try ended up getting hurt when it didn’t work out for a reason they found shallow.
My friends tried to set me up in the past but each one stopped after separate similar incidents where the guy treated me poorly in the date for not being “hot”.

My friends hated seeing me getting my hopes up for a date and then hearing…that. So they just sort of gave up totally.
Work and bar's declines make sense, but what does it say about the implosion of meeting people through friends? Like, it's almost a trope being set up by people.
Both the anti-vax and COVID zero dead ends both are based on the assumption that through purity one can achieve health, when in reality, health itself is a nebulous concept and the body is just trying to balance between destroying itself and healing itself.
I don't want this? Why would I want this? Why would anyone want this? (And I am a person who am such a mark for stuff usually: I bought a Taylor Swift inspired sweatshirt from the Elizabeth Taylor estate this weekend).
What if a dictator but benevolent?
