RIP, Ryne Sandberg.

The Hall of Fame Chicago Cubs second baseman was acclaimed for both his brilliant fielding and his power hitting. He was 65.

Bubba Wallace on being locked into the playoffs: "Holy shit... that's three years of frustration and stress right there"

Bubba Wallace winning by beating Kyle Larson, who NASCAR has tried to rehabilitate after he used the n-word while streaming himself playing video games in 2020, is just... *chef's kiss.*

So happy to see Bubba in victory lane, especially at Indy.

I know Ichiro didn't face the same things Jackie Robinson did. But before Ichiro there truly was a widely-held belief that Japanese players wouldn't succeed as everyday starters.

Ichiro pretty much destroyed that thinking.

Ichiro seems so out of step with current times. He has a deep sense of honor and obligation to the game. He is serious, calm, self-possessed. He never blusters, never shows off, never complains, never vamps. He favors precision over force.

We could use a lot more Ichiros in US public life.
