I was so close to doing that! And then the whole system did an auto-restart.
What comic are you referring to, mind providing a link?
People vote for him then protest performatively.
Ugh too relatable. It generally behaves for me... but last week it crashed while I was driving on the highway, leaving me with an extended tone from the music that was playing at the time of the crash. 🎺

Agreed! In my corner of the world, it's only now starting to appear autuminal. We had a hot start to October. The leaves are finally changing and the temps are cooling.
I can trade my pumpkin spice cold brew to a hot latte. ☕

Our humanity is shoehorned into such a particular mold for social media and technology. There are more ways to enjoy learning and knowledge and living, the path of least resistance is being forced to fulfill only the mightiest dragons.
I don’t like a future where we can *only* create & serve a company based on what they want. (Feeding the algorithm with content).

Places like Wikipedia for decades have allowed access to their information freely and liberally. We see some rolling back their free APIs w the greediness of training
It should be a priority for llms and search engines to properly cite where their info comes from.

The business model of Wikipedia is being affected by a push of behavior change.

And I wonder how broadly will this shape how we interact with the internet?
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...
Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors
“With fewer visits to Wikipedia, fewer volunteers may grow and enrich the content, and fewer individual donors may support this work.”

Not generally. My birthday falls around Christmas time, so I generally take my b-day to new years off.
At my current company it's a granted time off, and I got to program a script to apply the PTO to upcoming birthdays! 👩🏽‍💻
AYEEEEE I GOT A SERIOUS QUESTION (this not a thread)

Do yall go to work on yall Birthday?

🐹 Before viral videos on TikTok or YouTube, there was Hampsterdance.

Full of dancing hamster GIFs & a sped-up tune, it became one of the internet’s first viral hits.

You can still dance to it on the #WaybackMachine ➡️ web.archive.org/web/19991222...
