Met de ondertekening van het Potus-vredesplan gaan Israël en Hamas akkoord met het beëindigen van de oorlog in Gaza. Hopelijk luidt dit het einde in van geweld, lijden en verwoesting - een dag waar velen lang op hebben gewacht. 1/2

We staan zij aan zij met Polen in de EU en de NAVO om Oekraïne te steunen, druk op Rusland op te voeren en onze weerbaarheid te vergroten. In Warschau bespraken we hoe we nog beter kunnen samenwerken op veiligheid en defensie, en op andere grote uitdagingen zoals migratie. 2/3

Het is vreselijk dat veel gijzelaars de terreur van Hamas niet hebben overleefd. Belangrijk dat de lichamen zo snel mogelijk worden teruggebracht naar Israël, zodat hun dierbaren waardig afscheid kunnen nemen. Onze dank gaat uit naar president Trump, Egypte, Qatar en Turkije. 2/2

🎗️ Zojuist zijn de laatste levende Israëlische gijzelaars vrijgekomen. We halen opgelucht adem dat zij hun geliefden weer in de armen kunnen sluiten na twee helse jaren in de handen van Hamas. Ik leef ook intens mee met de families die deze nachtmerrie hebben moeten doorstaan. 1/2

It is tragic that a substantial number of hostages did not survive the terror of Hamas. Their bodies need to be returned to Israel as soon as possible, so relatives can say their final goodbyes with dignity. Our gratitude goes out to US President Trump, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye. 2/2

🎗️ It is a huge relief that the remaining living Israeli hostages have just been released. They can now finally reunite with their loved ones after two hellish years of captivity by Hamas. I also feel deeply for the families who had to suffer through this nightmare. 1/2

Welkom nieuws dat het staakt-het-vuren tussen Israël en Hamas is ingegaan. Cruciaal dat dit standhoudt, zodat alle gijzelaars z.s.m. vrijkomen en massaal meer hulp de mensen in Gaza bereikt.
