Interesting to see an earthquake warning signs in a subway station in Seoul. Seems like proactive government efforts to help people prepare for an earthquake, and these efforts are of course part of the #LinguisticLandscape.

I think it might be Mongolian, although I am not sure, and is likely for the Mongolian residents who live and work in and around Seoul, often in manufacturing and industrial work, I think. All just guesses from me here, though. Someone else likely knows much more!

Oh, some interesting multilingualism in this emergency shelter sign. I have definitely seen different combinations of languages on other very similar signs, so looks like something interesting is happening here in the emergency #LinguisticLandscape!

So the trend of clothing companies in Korea branding themselves off older American companies extends even to the manufacturer of the F-35, with Lockheed Martin Apparel Korea. Anywho, something for fan studies scholars among others to look at, perhaps . . . .

Fantastic article! Thanks for sharing! Did not know there were still steam powered ships on the great lakes, and yeah, just great writing about a week spent on this ship-absolutely fascinating!

This is terrific. A great profile of Great Lakes shipping (and mandatory reminiscence on the Edmund Fitzgerald) featuring my all time favorite freighter, one I’ve seen dozens of times, the still hardworking “antique” steamship Wilfred Sykes. Gift article.

Almost done.

It is very difficult to convey the incredible transformation that can happen when a neighborhood is redeveloped in Seoul; every structure for blocks -except for churches- knocked down, and then tower after tower built in just a couple of years. Stunning, transformative, more.

"A banner, posted along the walkway, outlines the four guidelines which prohibit: 1) shirtless running, 2) clapping or cheering, 3) running in large groups and 4) shouting 'make way' at other pedestrians."

Good #LinguisticLandscape note in this article on running

This looks very very cool. Great to see more scholarly research on Games Workshop, Warhammer, and the grim darkness of the 40th millennium

Worth reading, even if I am a lot more skeptical towards Bluesky than before and the general decentralization movement in technology, but yeah, as highlighted in the article, Twitter is genuinely monstrous and the effects it can have on users is awful
