Seemingly random acts of kindness keep popping up in my life recently. Someone left a bunch of wildflowers on my doorstep last month (still don’t know who) and today I was rubber ducked, which I just learned is a practice amongst fellow Jeep owners to leave a rubber duck in your windshield wiper. 🥹

Especially during this administration, I felt I’ve been pulled in too many directions in the fight for what’s right. Until I reminded myself that I am only part of the solution and it is better to think of myself as being multifaceted so I can consistently fight every day and through my art.

I was raised to take a stand for what’s right. Over the years I’ve watched people stand down in fear or in the name of self-preservation. You all need to know that right now, taking a stand IS self-preservation.
And we all need to be afraid if we don’t.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

Yeah of course. My point is that you gotta understand what your kid is using and what you’re up against to parent properly. JUST saying “No” isn’t enough. Ever. Sure, clearly lay down the rules, but always understand the world and the context. That’s always been part of good parenting.

My neighbor uses her cat that she lets roam freely in the neighborhood as an excuse to wander onto my property DAILY, often calling out desperately for her cat. She’s a lowkey social menace. She knows exactly what she’s doing. She feigns ultra friendliness but has NO sense of privacy or boundaries.

I was just thinking yesterday that elections are gonna be really interesting with ICE probably being encouraged to roll up and intimidate people in certain areas. It’s gonna take a lot of fortitude and fuck you attitude to uphold the Democratic process this year.
