Thank you everyone for your burnout advice, you've all been very kind! I was struck by how much of it was directed at being able to draw again, that didn't even occur to me. I'm just trying to reduce my average level of activation, my nervous system is Not Ok. Thanks again.

I've been burnt out for 5yrs and I'm realizing that my strategy of sleeping a lot and doing nothing has not, in fact, moved the needle. My nervous system feels CRAZY. The world of self-help for burnout is too vast. If you've recovered from burnout can you tell me where to start?

Thank you, I was diagnosed autistic a few years ago and I'm not 100% convinced I am but I'm having something a lot more like autistic burnout than exclusively work burnout from what I understand. Setting goals gives me a panic attack at the moment, I'm just trying to lower my baseline overwhelm.

Aw thank you that's very kind, and so thorough!!! I have resisted really investing in myself beyond a work-machine since I'm not especially interested in my other qualities and I was too impatient to remedy that, I get where you're coming from.

I actually ordered some of those makes-your-brain-relax type ear plugs, they're supposed to come today. Idk I might have to go back to therapy, I think this is outside earplug territory.

Oh boy, I think it's coming from inside the house unfortunately. I take antidepressants but I think there's a somatic component that needs to be addressed. Like I'm SO overstimulated and living with another person has really brought out how few inputs I can really tolerate.

If you're comfortable wearing men's they tend not to stray from the classic sweatpant silhouette, especially if it's like a store where a dad might shop if that makes sense? I need the elastic too, I feel you.
