My least favorite part of sewing is cutting the pattern and pieces. The pattern I bought for my Halloween costume was only available as a PDF. So now instead of cutting a delicate tissue paper I get to tape 60 sheets of 8.5x11 together then cut. And pin that heavy printer paper to my fabric.

Got me thinking about when I was still on my parents' phone plan, my Motorola Razr was broken and the 9, a soft key and left arrow didn't work. I needed to call my dad but:
1. Couldn't open contacts bc broken softkey
2. Dad wasn't in 10 most recent calls
3. His work number had 4 instances of 9

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

Poor Charlie has to live in a truck
