Honestly… it would. I used to joke that I knew more about Charles II’s mistresses than his foreign policy… but I actually just learned foreign policy through his mistresses.
I love this idea. I have no idea what I would do, but I love this. It really embraces that learning could be about joy.
This thread on biscuits made my morning, especially the bookish biscuits. #bookhistory #bibliography
Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.
A set of eight rectangular cookies arranged on a square white plate against a dark wooden background. Each cookie is inspired by a wallpaper design by Morris & Co. The patterns represented feature different floral and leaf shapes in shades of baby blue, soft pink, leafy green, mustard yellow, cream, and dark grey.
Starting the Charlotte Smith chapter of Rebecca Romney’s new book feels like a treat today.
Hey ASECS members in Michigan (adjacent states too!). Interested in gathering in the center of the state for a dinner on one of the virtual ASECS weekends? I'll organize if I know who to invite. #ASECS2025 #ASECS25

yes! it looks like the BL 19th Century is down rn. <sigh> Thanks for checking for me!
I need something c. 19th century that my ECCO access doesn't reach to. I can see via WorldCat that "historical texts" has it...
Anyone have access to Historical Texts database and could look up something for me?

I get that for Christians it's important to see Christianity as good. but none of the rest of us fucking care if it's "real" Christians or "fake" Christians robbing us of healthcare or destroying our democracy.
Cigna is denying me a PET scan bc. they state it is not medically necessary based on their clinical guidelines. I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer spreading throughout my bones and liver. My insurance company says I don't need the only scan that can show what's going on!
Wtf Cigna. Cancer patients are your patients—where is the care they deserve?
Cigna forcing me to use Accredo pharmacy has lead to me being in a situation where I can’t get my chemo. And Accredo has been gaslighting me for weeks. Today I thought about quitting my treatment and just letting the cancer kill me. Because I can’t keep begging for care.
Please advise: which book have you started with?
Sold some eggs to our neighbor yesterday & am thinking we should upcharge for folks who voted for this nonsense 👀

4) Do not normalize proving your citizenship status on demand. You are not required to do that. Refuse. White American citizens are safest in refusing because they're the hardest to fuck with and they should use it.
