I just listened to this on my drive home from the coast today. A great listen and such helpful historical context for the pushback against Mamdani.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

My husband was there and said after the game Humpy stood next to Rick Rizzs while everybody cheered and yelled, "We love you Humpy!" Definitely not a coincidence.

Turns out listening to baseball on AM radio can be riveting.

The husband, meanwhile, is actually at the game, losing his mind.

I give my husband a hard time for listening to AM sports radio, but here I am, out on the coast without TV, listening to the Mariners on the trusty AM. What a game.

The attacks on federal workers hit particularly hard, because these are folks who've devoted their careers to serving the public good. And that's exactly why the administration is targeting them - service is anathema to their zero sum ideology.

Picture how big the Hoover Dam is. An absolute unit. The Hoover Dam has a power capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW).

The solar farm that the Admin just cancelled could have produces 6.2 GW of power. That's more than 3 Hoover Dams.

The news was quietly dropped via a sudden website update with no public word from any of the companies involved or a statement from the agency

Yeah. I have nothing but respect for the hawk but I really was excited to see those robins. I've been worried about them.

It felt decidedly inauspicious tbh but I'm trying not to read into it. Hawks gotta eat. 🤷‍♀️
