The Police were a formative band for me. Synchronicity was the first cassette I got, at age six. I might see Sting live now if I happened to stumble across a performance, say at a county fair (like I did with Vanilla Ice). No way MAGA would be enticed by this.

It's 100% in response to Elon's tweet this morning about the Shire being peaceful because of the "Hard Men" of Rohan, and that's why people in the UK should vote for Tommy Robinson. They have no understanding of LOTR.

Update. Thankfully, I was able to get ahold of someone and things are not as dire as I thought. They're still operating, and my team and I can keep sending referrals. Still the point stands that food banks are going to need help. So give if you can.

My daily work puts me in touch with a lot of food banks. I've just been informed that one of the larger ones in Fairfax County, VA is closed for lack of funding. This is before SNAP stops next week. If you have the ability, please give to one or more of your local food banks. They need the help.

Personally, I love the noodling. It's interesting because she can sit through a 15 minute live version of Wilco's "Kidsmoke," but this came off to her as arrogant. It's somewhere we disagree. So I try not to play it when she's around.

My wife holds a grudge against this band. In 2014, we saw them at the 9:30 Club. He spent a long time noodling on the guitar, making unnecessary noises, and my wife hated it. And we stood for a LONG time. The next day I herniated a disc really bad. She blames him. And thinks it was self-indulgent.

Yeah, but the "Hard Men" of Gondor needed the peaceful, genteel Hobbits to save them from the all-corrupting evil of the One Ring. The lesson isn't to align with the "Hard Men," because they won't save you. It's the simple folk of the Shire that have the real strength.
